Radio Rumor: Gavin Returns to 105.3. Well, Sorta.

Actually, it's not a rumor. It's fact. But it's not that Gavin. As in Gavin Spittle, the guy who served for years as fodder for Russ Martin's shenanigans before moving to Houston.

No, this time the new face at 105.3 The Fan is Gavin Dawson. He apparently will arrive from Portland on March 29 to do ... afternoons?

My co-employers are tight-lipped about the details, but I do know that the midday extravanganza with Newy Scruggs and yours truly will remain unchanged.

Otherwise, stay tuned.

Oh, and since you're in a festive mood today come out to Duke's in Addison where The Fan is broadcasting live and in living color. First round is on me you.

Glad we could have people from the 23rd largest market come on to explain how things work to us here in the 4th market. I mean it is obvious that Portland had it going on with their legendary football team and TV shows named after them and inventing the microchip....oh wait a minute...Portland has nothing on Dallas. For those that don't know; Portland is is like East Texas with shitty weather.

Dont hate on Gavin Dawson, he is awsome and knows his shit..young and energetic, I have been listening to him for almost ten years, He and Chad "the body" Doing did host the Jim Rome show a few months back, Gavin will bust his ass and bring it everyday...

I'm also from Portland and I'm going to miss listening to him in the mornings! From what I gather The Fan sucks, nothing like The Game! Having lived in Texas I would make the same comparision on Texass and Oregon! You have to do what you have to do, I guess. Good luck to you Gavin : )

I'm from Portland, and Gavin does very good work. He recently beat Cowherd in the morning ratings. He really knows the NBA.
Hilarious. I'm from Portland and Gavin is a douche. He spent 7 years doing scrub work at an AM station when a new FM station popped up in Portland. They hired him and in some bizarre move they eventually put him in the morning slot because the original hosts blew. Good luck Dallas with this DB, you deserve him, and you'll eat him alive.

Ah, just when I think I'm a hater, I come here and see that there are folks out there who hate Richie far more than I do. I just hope Richie didn't put his nasty paws on those purty waitresses at Duke's.
Is Gavin prepared to come to a "sports" station that talks sports about 20% of the time? The Fan should brand itself as "The station for sports fans that want to talk about anything else but sports...except when the cowboys are playing". And does he know this station has gone through about 12 people in his new time slot? I wouldn't sell my Portland home just yet.
Why does CBS Radio have such a problem admitting when they've made a mistake? The Fan is never going to make it... Look how long they kept Hot/Wild 100.3 and Movin' 107.5 alive. KRLD AM is a joke... KVIL only does well when they play Christmas music... JACK FM is a really bad iPod. Thank God for The Ticket and XM!!!
