I Think I'll Start Watching Dancing With The Stars

• Matt, I have a wonderful sense of humor. And as Christians go, I'm more open minded than you might think. But there are limits. I bet there are things which aren't funny to you. And I bet you'd want others to respect your values. Tolerance is a two way street. I'm not asking PETA to run G-rated ads. If PETA wants to keep using nude women to sex-up their agenda, that's their business. I'm not trying to be the morality police. But I would ask that they keep their hoochie-coochie girls away from my religion. And notice I said ask. I'm not organizing a book burning or a protest march or trying to get the Glenn Beck moon bat army involved. I don't see how that's so unreasonable. I understand that some of my fellow Christians go over the deep-end far too often. That doesn't mean that every Christian is a humorless, judgmental pain in the arse.

• Even though I agree with adopting over buying (for the cost, not for anything peta says), when I see this type of ad all I see is, "I'd rather go naked..." and a hot naked chick. The meaning of the ad is totally lost on me. Plus PETA makes me want to buy a pig and feed it bacon and ham and sausage. Everyone should look up the PETA ad with the chick that played Marta in Arrested Development. DAY-UMM!

• Putting a sexy model out there with a cross and in a church setting to promote animal rights is as disrespectful to Christianity as would be posing a sexy model as Ghandi to promote a diet pill. In fact, let's just take religion out of the equation. Wouldn't anyone find it offensive if they showed the statue of Abraham Lincoln getting a lap dance? How how about an exotic dancer superimposed as poll dancing between the twin towers. Some historical figures and historical moments deserve to have their dignity remain in tact. If hahaha and some of the others on this thread can't see that, then they have my pity. Even a society as wheels-off and crass as ours needs some shreds of dignity. Or I guess we can just pose Buddha, Muhammad, and Mother Theresa with the cast of Rock of Love and let the Idiocracy begin.

• I don't normally gripe about the cheap exploitation in our culture because I don't want to be a typical knee-jerk stereotypical Christian. I fully understand that those who don't share my faith won't share my view of sexuality and I prefer to take a "live and let live" attitude. But this us intentionally offensive. Dear PETA, if you want me to take your cause seriously, stop defiling objects of my faith.
