• Richie, You should expose ESPN in much greater detail. They do this all the time with newspapers and the radio networks Fox and Sporting News, They conveniently re-break stories after there is documented proof it was already reported. Ignoring you and Newy is just a small part of a much larger deception. I'm sure Mark Stein can spill all the beans after a few. Or Andy Katz since he seemingly breaks every story on the planet.

• Calvin Watkins quoted Jerry Jones on KRLD in his latest post on ESPNDallas.com. So, all is well again..

• Mason, if Rhyner and that "talent challenged" idiot Corby actually intertain you...you must be dumber than a box of Arkansas creek rock!!

• Credit in the media works from the bottom-up. Example, the DMN would never credit the Dallas Observer, because the DMN believes that the DO is beneath them. But if they get some info from the New York Times, it'll be credited. Same with ESPN. When it's all said and done, they think The Fan is beneath them and don't owe you a thing. Credit would probably never be given if the media wasn't fearful of burning bridges. But when you're looking up the ladder and want to be there someday, you'd better give credit. When you think you're at the top of that ladder, you shit on those beneath you.

• The ticket still dominates. they are so GD funny, and dont bludgeon me over the head with too much sports (okay, sturm does, but he is the only thing wrong with the ticket). Rhyner and cobra could walk into my office, kick me in the penis and take my coffee, and i would still love them.

• I still thought 105.3 was Young Country.... When are you going to understand that nobody listens to your station? It's not your fault that you are surrounded by people without talent and that your station managers have no idea how to run a successful station. Maybe when you stop "bringing the heat" and reading fan texts and have a little content people will listen and you'll get credit. Until then, just remember that you work for a bad station that puts out a bad product. Off topic but, I'm loving the mess that Radio Boy Steve Dennis has stirred up. • I don't know about the unwritten rules of radio quotes, but this stuff happens ALL the time in the other direction. Do you think last year when TO went on CBS to talk to Deion and everyone on radio used his quotes for weeks afterwards that CBS was given credit every time? No way, and I guarantee there's many situations on The Fan where this exact thing happens. To me, crediting it to his weekly talk show seems good enough and seems to be pretty standard.

• Richie, You have a legitimate argument, but again they aren't taking credit for the quotes. Whoever it was that heard Jerry say this Listens to The Fan. That's kinda plus for you guys cause you have at least 1 competitor interested on what you guys may or may not come up with.

• I appreciate your column, too. You've got some good stuff from time to time. That's why I check it out. I just hate it when you get sidetracked by something petty (like this ESPN thing) that, in my opnion, nobody cares about. I also don't like it when you let you hatred for the Ticket cloud your vision. And, when you're wrong, there is never a retraction or correction. You just lay into us who are commenting, usually with some snide remark that doesn't address the main point.

• Richie, Thanks for continuing to address me, and softening it with "I can't believe I'm taking the time to do this". When will you re-visit your famous "cracks in the Ticket foundation" column? Wasn't that the time you predicted the demise of the Ticket beccause some midday producer was leaving? And you don't have a burr under your saddle for that station? Right. According to you, the Fan should have overtaken the sinking Ticket months ago. Yet, the Ticket ratings are at an all-time high. Keep throwing stuff at the wall. It sticks now and then.

• Good point, JS. In today's over-saturated media world, credit for a story doesn't matter any more. Nobody really 'breaks' anything. Seems like 10 different outlets all get the same story or have the same idea at virtually the same time. Which makes Richie wanting credit even funnier. ESPN will 'break' a story, saying 'sources' tell them such and such. Their source? Usually FOX or CNN or SI. It works both ways. And the bottom line: the consumer doesn't care.

• Oldtime, actually I think the Ticket guys took the Norv over Wade story directly out of the Morning News. However, I also think that is perfectly fine -- their job is to talk about stuff in the sports page, and I think they even referenced the DMN's column. I know they also take stuff out of SI, and they say they are doing so. Again, all of which is perfectly fine. Of course, I also think quoting Jerry's comment is fine without attributing it to the station on which he said it!

• Another prime example: Yesterday on my way to work I hear the Musers talk about how Norv Turner, the man they wanted over Wade, leads SD into town this weekend. I get to work, and about two hours after I heard it on the Ticket, 'voila', the same thought appears on Richie's blog! Richie doesn't listen to the Ticket? Instead, every day it's just a complete coincidence that his blog contains ideas lifted from 1310? OK.

• I don't interpret RW as being a hater/jealous about the good ship ticket..I'd bet he was a p1 before the fan came along..and is likely to be one again one day..I'll bet lil girl Greggo listens while he's getting effed up.

• Richie, Your partner in crime did this a couple of days ago on his facebook when the story was first published. While I will say that ESPN Dallas didn't quote the Fan or Jagger's show as the direct source, they didn't go and say "OH Well why we were talking to Jerry on this day he said this." They aren't taking credit, only reporting what was said over the airwaves of a station that not that many people listen to anymore. You are a good guy. But to seem as if your getting pissy is what drove me away from your show. For awhile all I heard was "Bitch, Bitch, Bitch, Whine, Whine, Whine, Moan, Moan, Moan, Scott from Fort Worth your on the air, and your a moron."

I've stuck with the Fan all through the format changes and have followed (and will continue to follow) The Jagger Mafia wherever they end up. The hosts I listen to all day are intelligent, witty, and entertaining (and some of them are just too darn cute). Just can't find that on any other stations. I do miss Ben and Skin though. They were pretty funny and clever. Heard they went to ESPN. Too bad, 'cuz that station is so unappealing. Like the Ticket.

• Wow, sour grapes! I actually believe that 103.3 sucks (Irvin's show is awful and most of the rest aren't much better) and have never looked at ESPNDallas.com. But this rant is laughable. If you quote something from an article, book, etc., you are relying on someone else's efforts and must give them credit. If you are quoting a statement from Jerry Jones made at a press conference (open and available to all properly credentialed reporters), during an interview, or during his radio show, you don't have to note who asked the question to which Jerry responded or the radio station that broadcast the comment -- that's ridiculous. The only time you would have to credit the station is if you actually replayed part of the show.
