Seriously Now, You Think the Dallas Cowboys Will Make the Playoffs?

• Actually, this seems a pretty decent blog, and since I�ve contemplated entering the 21st Century, you�re a good source of advice.

• Richie.... Welcome to the 1% club. You and Newy with your constant bashing of the Cowboys. I can't wait to see what you decide to bitch about tomorrow.

• What was that about not having a chance in hell at beating the Saints? Oh yes.. They did it. What now?

• 1-2 if they're lucky; they could either beat the skins or eagles. if you really don't want to have a terrible holiday weekend- don't watch the game Sat night.

• 0-3. Means an 0-5 ending to the season and Shanahan will be here before the end of February. Oh yeah, I bet they get torched for 50+ by the Saints.

• I just looked at the rules and if I'm reading them correctly, here's what would happen using the 3 or more tied clubs for the NFC East division. 1) They all tie in the head to head pool as each are 2-2 2) They all tie in division record at 4-2 (assumes Dallas and NY both win @Wash) 3) Phil is knocked out based on common game record with their Oakland loss ....then it goes back to the 2 club tiebreaker rules,...head to head against NY and Dallas, so NY wins the NFC East Then the wildcard selection using the 3 club tiebreaker rules 1) Greenbay and Dallas get in since Phil is eliminated with the losses to Dallas. Greenbay would be 5th Seed and Dallas the 6th. Not sure who the 3rd/4th seed are since I think Arizona will be 10-6 too, tied with NY and everyone else in looking at their schedule and its now past my bedtime.

• scott, you make sense for once. kill me. without looking at the rules and tie breakers, it'd make sense that if those teams finished 10-6, GB and NYG would get in over the Cowboys.

• Remember how badly everyone wanted Parcells run out of town 4 years ago? "He's riding them too hard all season, that's why they crash in December", "The team is playing too tight because they're scared of Parcells", "Parcells is a jerk". Then we got the other extreme. Now what? It's all about Jerrah. Richie, run some more photos of Wade's hot daughter before he gets his pink slip! Oh, and 1-2 and no playoffs.

• I can see the Cowboys going 2-1 (winning @Wash and Phil) at which point, I think their is a real possibility of the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants and Packers all being tied at 10-6. I haven't looked it up, but what happens in terms of tie-breaking procedures if that should occur? I know we lose out against the Giants and Packers in head-to-head, but we'd win against the Eagles (if this scenario unfolds). However, the Eagles win out against the Giants and I can't remember if or what happened in the Packers/Eagles game.

If they win that one, though, their last two games are at home against Detroit and at St. Louis; if they win out, I'm pretty sure they'd have the tie-breaker over the Cowboys.

Wow, and I remember kicking your A$$ already this year. Right around the time Oakland Raiders beat you. Man oh man, tough opponent. Eagles will choke in the playoffs once again especially without dawkins and the old defensive coordinatar that finally croaked.

• EAGLES FAN? HAHAHAHA Choke Artists? The eagles are the biggest choke artists of this last decade. How many NFC championships the last 7 season and how many superbowl victories to show for it???!? Seriously, winning it all is the only thing that counts every year. Dallas missing the playoffs or Dallas losing in the NFC championship game is the same thing. Just better draft picks. The biggest choke artist would have to be mr. Mcnabb. Eagles are trash, and haven't won a superbowl in how long? Yea buddy. More time then it has been for us. Too bad you like to kick dawkins out of town, your good defensive coach got fired, and now your stuck with chunky soup Mcnabb. Idiot.

• Where was all this Cowboy's fatalism when you lambasted Emmitt Smith for predicting a 7-9 season? Not only did you criticize him when he made the prediction, you also came back to poke him in the eye when the Cowboys hit the 8-3 mark. Seems like you were riding pretty high on the 'Boys future then. Interesting that you go back to Janauary to justify your current feelings. Why don't you just admit that your opinion changes on a dime, Ritchie?

• The Cowboys have a good shot against a mediocre Saints D that gives up plenty of points. They just gotta hope the Saints offense finally shows some cracks.

• Wade is kind of like Ben Stiller's parents in "Meet the Fockers" who celebrated his 9th place finish in a swim meet and decorated his bedroom wall with participation awards and crap kids get nowadays just for "competing". That's probably good as a parent but sucks big time as an NFL coach. (well we did make the top 8) He seems like a nice guy, certainly more than Jimmy or Parcells. But you know what they say about nice guys . . . . He just never has seemed to understand that the standard for the Cowboys is different than it is for the Buffalo Bills, or the Atlanta Falcons or even the Denver Broncos. Having a winning season means nothing. That is expected, even demanded. In Dallas, the bare minimum is to win at least 1 playoff game annually and compete for the Super Bowl on a regular basis. Maybe that's not fair but that is the history of this club. As a result that is where the bar is placed.

• As much as it pains me to say it, I can see this team laying down and losing three straight. It just doesn't seem like they're willing to go out and get it. In fact, I don't think they've ever been that kind of team with Phillips. In '07 he inherited a team pretty much built by Parcells-- peaking at the right time-- and posted a 13-3 record only to treat that divisional game against the Giants like it was any other game. "Oh, we swept them in the regular season, these guys are easy." And ever since, it seems that's been the team attitude. But that's nothing that hasn't already been said many times over, right? My fear is that they will pull off a miracle in New Orleans, and then fall flat on their faces the next two games (but I think history favors New Orleans-- I don't think the 'Boys have played well there... against the Saints). And I wouldn't just tick the win column against the 'Skins. If I'm not mistaken, Phillips is only 3-2 against them as Cowboys head coach. That's not dominance.

All war depends upon it." - Ronald Spiers This is the attitude I took when Wade was not fired after last season, just like you mention RW. It makes it easier to watch them play, when I already know they are going nowhere.

• The kicker isn't Wade's call, it's all on Jerry. Wade knows that since he doesn't have any authority over the players the best way to keep the paycheck coming is to be buddies with them and hope that it builds enough good will that they will go to bat for him.

• They will go 2-1 if they have any heart or want to be a good football team. Saints, highly unlikely won't win, but history does say going 16-0 is nearly impossible. Washington should be a win, even if the play well. Eagles at home. If this game has any meaning to getting into the playoffs and Dallas flops again this season. Just means a cleaning of the guard again. Yet seeing Jerry throw something in the box last week makes me realize good ole wade needs to at least get to the NFC championship game to keep his job. 1 playoff win won't do it. Romo is playing well. Just like he would of done last year minus the lingering finger injury in cold weather games. Just bad play calling and bad kicking, and horid defense now. I see 2-1. Which doeesen't guarantee a spot either seeing that giants have it easy now, and dallas has lost to the giants twice.

• I'd like to go 3-0 but I don't wanna upset them other fellers we play against. Why can't we all just tie or both win or sumthin...

• I honestly think they lose out. The Saints and Eagles are both clearly better than the Cowboys at this point, and winning at Washington this time of year is likely to be too difficult - especially given how hard the Redskins have fought in recent weeks. Say what you want about Snyder being a mini-Jerry and Zorn being the offensive version of Wade, but those players have absolutely no quit in them, unlike the bunch out at Valley Ranch. So, yeah, 8-8. Bring on Shanahan!!!

• If we are lucky they will miss the playoffs and Jerry will decide to get a real coach in here. The problem is, nobody who would handle the team the way they need to be handled will come here because of the way Jerry runs things. We may be rid of Wade, but all we will get is someone just like him in his place.
