• Seriously...take a breather

• I'm glad Steve Dennis is challenging the Cowboys. At least someone in the media here is. Everyone wants access to media-friendly Jerry so they don't really confront him with his massive, massive failures over the last 13 years. The code words are "it's not going to change so......" I loved where Dennis asked Wade is he gets mad at the media for "making up" the December collapses does he get mad at his players for not doing what they are supposed to. I too do not believe it would have made much difference if it were Wade or Norv or Garrett. A team structured with a below average football man hiring the assistant coaches directly and dictating which players get on the field will fail one way or the other. We see the results every year. Cowboy Nation is being held hostage and the tradition of excellence crafted for oh so many years is now virtually eliminated.

• They need to get the sports reporter (Steve somebody) I just heard on the ticket giving Keith Brookin so much trouble. Evidently he thinks he is a friggin' expert. I wish Keith Brookin would have asked the reporter how many Pulitzers HE had won. ET P1

• Teh Cowboys need a coach who can play guitar like me and Corby.

• I was in favor of Garrett as head coach with Dom Capers as his DC. In retrospect, I don't think that would have been much a winner either. I think recycled coaches are not the way to go. The trick is to find someone with the talent who just has never gotten the chance at the top job yet. Say a Sean Payton or Tony Sparano. Jerry had his choice of them and went with Wade instead. A blimp named Hindenburg, a ship named Titanic . . . .

• Deadhorse: "STOP BEATING ME!!!!!!" Exactly. LOL.

• Whatever made Dan Reeves leave his 1st week here, would've made Singletary leave also. (I have a feeling it was an objection to the Jerry-mandated spine-ectomy.) Bucks must not stop before the jocks-n-socks level, and seldom do they stop there.

• I gagree with both of you..In hindsight I would love to have Singletary..texas ties (Baylor) and firey..you bet..he's pretty much the exact opposite of PaPa..

• Doesn't matter who the coach is as long as Jerry is the GM and hands-on owner.

• I second what MK2700 said. I would have hired Singletary. I know it sounds like hindsight to say that, but I really thought that might be a good idea at the time. Wade and Norv both underwhelmed me, though Norv has done a better job than I would have expected. Singletary was an unknown quantity, but what was known about Wade and Norv in their previous head coaching gigs didn't exactly inspire confidence, so an unknown quantity had more upside. The Cowboys were kind of victimized by the timing of Parcells' decision to leave. Had he waited a year, there would have been a much better field of candidates. Fortunately the field is going to be even better now. Let's see if Jerry takes advantage. (I'll save the obvious complaints about the GM for another day.)

• Norv has guided just 2 (soon to be 3) of his teams to 10 win seasons in 12 years. I don't think he would have produced different results here in Dallas than Wade. Mike Singletary was the guy. Look at what he has done with that bucket of elephant piss called the 49ers. He is a guy that would have held players accountable and always demanded more.
