The winner, obviously, is No. 3.

Yeah they're injured, injury-prone and old, but the Rangers are getting Ray and Harden for less than Millwood's salary and Lowell has World Series rings. Millwood was just kinda, I dunno, y-a-w-n.

Sounds like Thomas didn't play a big part in the skirmish. And from watching the "victim" on Fox4 last night, not sure he was physically effected at all. Looks like when your lips get chapped and you - ouch - peel a little skin off.

As for the Cowboys, really? The best solution to your kicking problem is to return to your biggest gaffe of the decade? I'm sure Romo's a great holder. You can say he's only messed up one time. And I'll say it was a huuuuuge one time. As in, without his botched hold in Seattle we wouldn't be talking about December demons or 13-year playoff droughts. Seriously, is holding that difficult?

Maybe it's me, but if the Giants have a last-minute lead against the Eagles Sunday night at The Meadowlands does New York call in Joe Pisarcik to execute a simple hand-off?

That Wild Card game was not lost on the botch FG attempt. Even if they would have made it, Seattle still would have had plenty of time to march down the field and kick one of their own to win the game. The way the defense was playing in the 4th, there is no doubt in my mind that that is exactly what would have happened.
How much trouble is your team in when the kicker starts making demands about who holds the ball. That's like hooking a bunch of drives OB and firing your caddy. It makes your All-Pro punter look like a pussy. I'm sure McBriar wants to say, 'Mix in a couple of makes and you won't have to worry about who's holding the ball mate!' The snap and hold looked perfect to me. The giant divot Folk took right before he hit the ball looked like a problem.
According to your fellow KRLD employee (who was actually at the restaurant) Tim Thomas didn't do anything. They brought this up on The Ticket this morning. That big fan of Thomas who was on Fox 4 might want to make sure he knew who Thomas played for before he did the interview.

The botched hold of Romo's was his first and you can see in the replay he did not know what to do. Had he not hesitated, thinking about the situation, he would have scored. My only drawback is that I thought he actually reviewed stuff on the sidelines during "down" times and now he can't do that. Put me on the side that OMG, certainly someone else, anyone, please, anyone could do this only so Romo can stay focused on the QB sh*t ET P1

Once again the lead is buried. Jerry the GM is too busy selling events at the stadium to do what should have been done weeks ago...replace the kicker. Folk has been off for weeks but just like the back-up quarterback fiasco last year the Cowboys do nothing and pretend everything is OK. Who cares who holds for a kicker that does not have it this year?
I was being sarcastic. I don't really care who holds as long as the ball goes through the uprights. I just know it will be a huge pain in the azz for Romo.

Harden is injury-prone, but he's not old. Maybe early middle-aged by baseball standards, but not old. He's 28, and won't turn 29 until after the 2010 season. The Millwood trade along with the Harden signing are good moves: Kevin Millwood ($12,000,00 2010 salary?) and $3,000,000 for Chris Ray (former hotshot bullpen dude struggling back from injury) and Rich Harden ($8,000,000 2010 salary). On the other hand, the Harden deal so far as I can tell is not absolutely done; at the least, Harden still has to pass a physical. This does have the potential to be another Ranger bait-and-switch, visibly going after a high-profile player in a deal that never had a chance of actually happening.
Thinking about the actual move: This team has been snakebit since the fumbled snap. Romo should have remained the holder. Taking that duty away from him was a strange acknowledgement that it was somehow more than a crazy one time thing with a slick ball, that it was skill-related. Get him back on the horse. This is Romo's team.

Doesn't matter. This team is doing the usual swan dive in December. The only real question is whether they'll go 0-5 or can they beat the 'skins in DC. Either way we'll get a new emasculated coach who does what Jerry tells him next year.
