Roy Williams >, < or = Terrell Owens?

• Has there ever been a good football player named Roy Williams? P.S. I'm starving!!!

• Let me first state my collegiate affiliation, I am now and have been since the beginning of my sports consciousness a card-carrying member of the Orangeblood Nation. In light of that statement of fact, I think UT Roy couldn't run a good route if someone gave it to him on mapquest. Seems to me there are plenty of other Longhorns in the NFL that don't provide an ocean of quotes for the damned media. And what happened to make him want to talk to them again? Media Silence was not a bad policy, he should have run with it. He doesn't seem to grasp the idea that talking gets him into trouble. If Romo is throwing the ball where everyone else is supposed to be and they catch the ball, then I suspect that the people that said Roy runs bad routes when he was with Detroit were correct in that assessment. This is a failed trade. As much as I wanted him to be successful in the NFL (and all the other alumni of my school) it is a failed bit.

• I wonder how many of Roy's apologists (Go FCS) are Texas fans? If he had gone to Auburn or Boston College EVERYONE would realize that he blows. I wonder why he thinks (along with his apologists) that only the passes thrown to HIM are off target. Hell, Sam Hurd plays 10 plays a game and he has more game impacting plays this season that "UT Roy". Face It, Jerry shows again that he is a PATHETIC judge of talent and has NO concept of player valus. I bet the Cowboys could have combined those three picks for a mid first round reciever that would have been much more productive. (Like the guy in Pittsburgh that played at Ole'Miss)

• Look, the common denominator is Tony Homo. Tony Romo is not all that great of a quarterback. Roy is correct in saying that the throws are just not there. Yes I do believe miles austin is the better receiver, no questions there, but he(roy) is correct in saying that the balls are just not being thrown to the rest of the team the way they are to austin. and i got to say, roy is no T.O. on the field or in interviews. And for those of you who think T.O. was not good for the cowboys... Just look at the stats. Imagine the cowboys this season with T.O. and austin. Combine that with their running backs. much better team.

• I guess I'm the only one, but I happen to agree with Roy Williams. The ball is not thrown correctly the majority of the time when Romo targets Williams. It's pathetic. I put ALOT of this on Romo. It's like he wants Roy Williams to fail. I'm still not sold on Romo. Big game this week = choke time for Romo.

• I thought Roy Williams said he wasn't going to talk to the media this season.

• The guy couldn't catch AIDS if he wanted to right now.

• Richie, I enjoy your work, but I think you are wrong on this and this is what I don't like about the media sometimes. I saw a video clip of everything he said and he didn't mean it like you are taking it. His whole point was that he and Romo need to work it out their on-field chemistry and get on the same page for routes and throws. He was NOT saying that Romo purposely is giving him bad throws. This WAS NOT a T.O. moment. He was saying the same thing he has said when he was asked this question the thousand other times already: "We are not on the same page and we need to GET on the same page". I hate it when the media asks the same questions 50 times - just hoping for something they can pounce on. So dude, go to valley ranch or watch the whole interview before you jump to conclusions. I know you need to fill your blog, but...really?

• As long as the Cowboys keep winning!! If anything, Roy Williams does contribute to the team..

• I don't think he was throwing Romo under the bus at all. Again, just the media asking him the same questions over and over to get a sound bite that would make him look bad. Note this: "Our footballs are everywhere right now." Our. Not his. And it's true, a lot of Romo's passes are not on target. Roy has also run some poors routes, but I think both have to share some of the blame. I'm as disappointed as anyone else that he hasn't worked out, but this is just digging for controversy that is not yet there. Once they can perfect that slant route and the fade he'll start to produce. So far, I would say he's been a good soldier who is just not producing.

• I think it has more to do with Cowboy fans being gunshy after the last number one receiver that came through here trying to start shit and got his ass canned for it. Now here is another over-hyped, under-producing joker running his mouth writing checks his ass can't cash. People will continue to defend him just like T.O. and this time next year they will look like blue-nosed bafoons just like the T.O. supporters do now. Bottom line is this: Roy didn't help Detroit win and he isn't helping Dallas win. No matter his comments, good or bad, or his college record, he's a non-factor in professional football.

• Guess he graduated from the Mack Brown School of Whining with an A. Joking aside, he's had a full season's worth of games to put up those stats for that price/trade? Honestly, give him until the end of this season. If he doesn't prove his value by then, spend the off season finding a sucker willing to take him off your hands. No one will value him as much as Jerry did, but something is better than nothing.

• I saw Roy on TeeVee saying that he (RW) KNEW that he was doing a poor job and that HE(RW) needed to "step it up". So, it all depends on what comments you choose to focus on.

• Roy may have an ego (what reciever or NFL player for that matter doesn't?) but I honestly think he was not trying to throw Tony under the bus w/ these comments. I think this is a matter of the media asking him the same.damn.questions each and every week and finally they all got the controversial answer they wanted all along. Look, I know it's the job of the sports media man to examine the game, question calls etc. But seriously, are we THIS desperate for drama within our sports teams that throw away comments like these are getting blown up to near epic proportions? Let's save this soap-opera shit for TMZ and focus on what these guys do on the field... not petty remarks they make off it.
