• REALLY? are you fucking kidding me? loyalty? class act? this is fucking exploitation of an addict. anti-depressants do not make you nod off like the hammer did yesterday. that is pain-killers, booze, muscle relaxers, barbs, or narcotics. take your pick. greggo is self-medicating. dr. bombay is correct. as long as greggo has admitted to being on psyche meds, his dosage would have been worked out years ago. you do NOT alter your dosages in the middle of treatment. and if you do, the effects would be nothing like what we witnessed today. and if he were under that care of a doctor, this is a case of malpractice. i'm all for supporting the hammer in his recovery. we all should. but when he ends up dead in a goddamn hotel room, i hope richard feels good about his "loyalty". heath ledger, were we go. it's the BDH's and T-bars and nascar dennises of the world that cannot hold greggo to the fire. if they would demand honesty and call him out on this shit, then it would allow him to really hit a real rock bottom. the ticket guys tried to do that, but he has his safety net of sycophants that won't be real with him. it's sad, man. ultimately, this is on the hammer. but if he ends up OD'ing on medication, the people that enabled him will have a drop of blood on their hands. the ones that turned their backson him after sitting through all the lies and multiple rehabs were actually trying to save his life. if you can't see that, then you are a misguided, uninformed moron.

• BDH=class act. You flat out cannot fake the level of sincerity he just displayed in discussing the situation. Loyalty is a long lost value in this country and I appreciate BDH's loyalty.

• I thought it was good radio! Greggo is still entertaining. BDH is a good guy. Stay hard!

• A few hypothetical questions: DO you know of anyone personally that is on anti depression or anti anxiety meds? (chances are you do) Are they under the care of a dr? (hopefully, they are) How often do they "change their meds? (usually never, once they get it 'right' at the beginning) How often has Greg used the "changed medications excuse"? (twice in the last three months) Have you ever heard them sound like Greg did yesterday or on KESN? (never)

• I really like the Richard Hunter Show but I found myself listening less and less after Greggo came aboard. Sometimes I thought I was listening to one of the NAZI shows on the lower end of the radio dial when he spoke.

• I missed Richard's first hour; did he talk about what happened with Greggo? Anything notable?

• I really like Williams with Hunter and he may be back since the station doesn't have an HR department or a program director and Richard Hunter seems to be a very forgiving and understanding person (unless your name is Russ Martin). He's not on today and he should not have been on yesterday either. That girlfriend (whom I hope was driving yesterday) should of had him back in a hospital or at home waiting for the "spell" to pass. So far Greg is not on today, I hope he come back and I hope he's getting his meds adjusted. As much as I like the guy, moving may be his best option. Getting out of DFW and into a market where he is an unknown to listeners and drug dealers alike. OK City, New Orleans, Phoenix. Somebody, somewhere needs a Greggo.

• Greggo's presence on BDH's show has been uncomfortable for me since nearly day one. I've been asked to give him longer to find his stride and really fit in. And I have. Actually, Friday he was rather enjoyable and I had changed my mind. I haven't been able to listen again since Friday so I missed all of this. But based on my thoughts of him from the beginning, I'd say the answer to your question is D. Sad. He needs help. His career is swirling around the toilet and he should get himself together before he attempts a return, so he Can return. I know he has a lot of fans out there. Staying on the air in this state could burn the rest of his chances to revive his career.

• ITK, I agree he has issues, but are we sure its not the psych meds he's on or is it him snorting coke or taking vicodin? It made interesting radio, however. I also agree the guy had plenty of changes at The Ticket, like every addict Ive known or met, he's going to need the "tough love" approach to fix his issues. Im talking real detox treatment, none of that sissy-assed "yoga and vegetarian" BS, but medical treatment and counseling, followed up by a serious 12 step program regiment with a sponsor who's going to hold him accountable.

• @In the KNOW - I'll agree with most of your points. Having been married to a drug addict, I know the frustrations they had, the lies they endured, the times they beat their heads against the wall, etc. My only problem with the Ticket hosts (and I'm a huge P1), was/is the subsequent pile-on they've had (and continue to have) after the guy was canned. Yes, they went through a lot (as did I with my ex), but it doesn't justify the snide remarks/drops, etc. A more adult thing to do might be to just forget the guy ever existed, and continue on with their show. It's been years now, and they just won't let it go. No matter how you spin it, that's just plain sorriness on THEIR behalf....

• @never listen: You are a dumbass, plain and simple. @In the know: Good post. The fact is, the guys on The Ticket gave him YEARS of chances, and he failed them each time. At some point you have to let them go so they can hit bottom. Unfortunately, some are too stupid or stubborn to hit bottom.

• Greggo is not going to carry a show but he is gold in the little bits here and there. You never know what he is going to say or if he will say anything. He really struggles to put a sentence together these days. It is even better watching the webcast where you can see him fidgeting and checking his watch constantly. It may be sad in some ways but hey if he is going to do why not where we can all enjoy it.

• @never listen: You BLAME the hypocrites at the Ticket? How many employees do you know at the Ticket that have a serious drug problem or mental illness i.e making them hypocrites by definition?? Secondly, Greggo is a 50-yes 50! year old man. How can anyone force a 50 yr old to do ANYTHING they don't want to do? Simple fact is until Greg wants to be honest with himself (which is going to be tough, since he is an admitted liar) and gets himself into a hospital-for drug rehab, or mental illness, for 60-90-120 days or longer, there is nothing anyone else can do for him. Whether they want to or not. His girlfriend should not sit by and watch this. Its called Tough Love. Google it. The Ticket tried to help Greg many times--remember they let him come back from rehab from Vicodin, the first time. They sent him to rehab at 2nd time--obviously Greggo didn't use those chances to get himself cleaned up. How many other countless chances did Ticket mgmt give Greg, coddle Greg, did his co workers cover for him when he was F'd up on the air, or absent for weeks on end? Anyone remember K Scott's trip to Arizona for Rangers Training one year? These are just what we know about. Think about Rhyner and Corby and Danny trying to do a 4 hour show literally carrying someone like BDH had to do yesterday for just 2 hours. Those guys did it for weeks, or even years on end. Greggo had his toughts and sentences finished by BDH yesterday. And lets take a look at the latest Greggo/BDH episode. It took Greg nearly a year to get the KESN gig..and less than a year to lose it. Now its taken less than a MONTH to go on BD's 'show' under the influence of something, again. And people! Please! Listen to yourselves, this isn't Radio Gold!! Its sad. Its a disaster. Its enabling of the worst kind if BDH lets greggo back on the air. We are all slowing down at 5 mph and straining our necks to glimpse the bloody corpse in the traffic accident. This is a slow, personal and career suicide and many are calling it entertaining?? Tell me how that's not WORSE than the Ticket 'giving' up on someone? Finding humor and pleasure in someone else's obvious Illness?? Its wrong, its beyond funny. Greg is mess. Greg needs to be committed to a hospital, or Greg will end up like Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger or Elvis--dead of an accidental overdose of prescription meds he apparently is taking.

• Greg did a pretty damn good foster brooks impersonation(see Wikipedia for that reference kids) yesterday, i'm curious if this was shtick or actual problem? I will say this, it made for more entertaining radio that Barley House Douche Hipster Injun Corby and Old Gray Pubes Rhyner, as hearing about how things used to be in baseball, e-news retread and community quick hits have gotten old and tired.

• Could there be another explanation besides drugs? I know that's the obvious conclusion, but could Greggo be on antidepressants or something that could make him as bumfuzzled as he sounded? Having said that, he did sound like he had a bad case of DrunkHigh. Whatever the case, I really liked Greggo. Never met him, but he seemed like a good guy.

• This is coming from someone who really loved Greggo back in the day, at the Ticket - I enjoyed his wacky charm. But, yesterday was definitely NOT charming and in fact, was so cringe-inducing, I simply couldn't listen. I switched back over to NPR where at least they are professional. It was just so sad.

• If he's not being paid but the station but is instead sitting in as a guest -- which is how it looks to me -- it is a win for BDH and the station, who generate radio gold, interest, and ratings for free, and a huge lose for Captain Hug who is being exploited by yet another radio station and "friend." Enablers rarely wind up wearing the white hat. Sad and shame all around.

• Did you notice that at the end of the show Greggo said a couple of times something like "see you tomorrow, if they let me come back"? (each time BDH emphatically said "see you tomorrow" in response) Greggo knew it was a trainwreck.
