Greggo was way off on something yesterday...might of been lack of sleep..probably not..BDH or one of his other good friends has to get him some help or it's going to end bad..

Greggo is the Foster Brooks of DFW radio. The sad thing is Greggo isn't acting.

Did you notice that at the end of the show Greggo said a couple of times something like "see you tomorrow, if they let me come back"? (each time BDH emphatically said "see you tomorrow" in response) Greggo knew it was a trainwreck.

I know you don't like to, but can we talk about the Rangers some more? Please? They just swept the Red Sox and had guys named Tommy Hunter and Dustin Nippert getting wins and another guy named Doug Mathis picked up a 3.1 inning save.
All of that is more interesting than Dallas-Fort Worth radio talk.

If he's not being paid but the station but is instead sitting in as a guest -- which is how it looks to me -- it is a win for BDH and the station, who generate radio gold, interest, and ratings for free, and a huge lose for Captain Hug who is being exploited by yet another radio station and "friend."

Enablers rarely wind up wearing the white hat. Sad and shame all around.

This is coming from someone who really loved Greggo back in the day, at the Ticket - I enjoyed his wacky charm. But, yesterday was definitely NOT charming and in fact, was so cringe-inducing, I simply couldn't listen. I switched back over to NPR where at least they are professional.

It was just so sad.

Could there be another explanation besides drugs? I know that's the obvious conclusion, but could Greggo be on antidepressants or something that could make him as bumfuzzled as he sounded?

Having said that, he did sound like he had a bad case of DrunkHigh.

Whatever the case, I really liked Greggo. Never met him, but he seemed like a good guy.

I sadly have to agree with you. I know its sorry, but I was more entertained by this than most shows on sports stations. I was'nt so much laughing "at" greggo, but with him. Hell, I thot he was funny!....yeah, I know...its still sad...

Greggo is not going to carry a show but he is gold in the little bits here and there. You never know what he is going to say or if he will say anything. He really struggles to put a sentence together these days. It is even better watching the webcast where you can see him fidgeting and checking his watch constantly. It may be sad in some ways but hey if he is going to do why not where we can all enjoy it.

Good post. The fact is, the guys on The Ticket gave him YEARS of chances, and he failed them each time. At some point you have to let them go so they can hit bottom. Unfortunately, some are too stupid or stubborn to hit bottom.

ITK, I agree he has issues, but are we sure its not the psych meds he's on or is it him snorting coke or taking vicodin? It made interesting radio, however.

I also agree the guy had plenty of changes at The Ticket, like every addict Ive known or met, he's going to need the "tough love" approach to fix his issues. Im talking real detox treatment, none of that sissy-assed "yoga and vegetarian" BS, but medical treatment and counseling, followed up by a serious 12 step program regiment with a sponsor who's going to hold him accountable.

RW has BDH got back with you or are you holding off on a follow up for another big exclusive. Yesterday's Greggo wasn't good radio, it was extrememly uncomfortable. I've checked them out a few times in the last week or two and Greggo seemed pretty sharp..(for Greggo).. RW, I think you should go right to the source ..do another sitdown with the Hammer. If it's his meds, he needs to kick his doc's ass..if it's the demons again BDH should cut bait..Hope lil cobra or the great Gordon gets ahold to the Habonita and talks some sense into him.

As a huge ticket and bdh P1 and Big backer of Greggo threw everything thus far, if yeaterday was anything less than a bit, it is ashame that he would do that to BDH i mean the dude is being a friend and greggo still can't stay rite...demons are hard to get away from and if that is in fact the reason i pray for u greggo. He should of not even left home or at least when he got lost called..canceled and went back home drugs, booze, or meds doesnt matter.

Interesting (or not) that the podcast of yesterday's show is (perhaps not-so-)strangely absent from BDH's website, Richard Hunter Show dot com. The podcasts are almost ALWAYS up and available immediately after a show's conclusion.

The video is extremely disturbing. Greggo is REALLY out of it. Hard to watch.

I really like Williams with Hunter and he may be back since the station doesn't have an HR department or a program director and Richard Hunter seems to be a very forgiving and understanding person (unless your name is Russ Martin). He's not on today and he should not have been on yesterday either. That girlfriend (whom I hope was driving yesterday) should of had him back in a hospital or at home waiting for the "spell" to pass.
So far Greg is not on today, I hope he come back and I hope he's getting his meds adjusted.

As much as I like the guy, moving may be his best option. Getting out of DFW and into a market where he is an unknown to listeners and drug dealers alike. OK City, New Orleans, Phoenix. Somebody, somewhere needs a Greggo.

I really like the Richard Hunter Show but I found myself listening less and less after Greggo came aboard. Sometimes I thought I was listening to one of the NAZI shows on the lower end of the radio dial when he spoke.

I thought it was good radio! Greggo is still entertaining. BDH is a good guy. Stay hard!

this is fucking exploitation of an addict. anti-depressants do not make you nod off like the hammer did yesterday. that is pain-killers, booze, muscle relaxers, barbs, or narcotics. take your pick.

greggo is self-medicating. dr. bombay is correct. as long as greggo has admitted to being on psyche meds, his dosage would have been worked out years ago. you do NOT alter your dosages in the middle of treatment. and if you do, the effects would be nothing like what we witnessed today. and if he were under that care of a doctor, this is a case of malpractice.

i'm all for supporting the hammer in his recovery. we all should. but when he ends up dead in a goddamn hotel room, i hope richard feels good about his "loyalty". heath ledger, were we go. it's the BDH's and T-bars and nascar dennises of the world that cannot hold greggo to the fire. if they would demand honesty and call him out on this shit, then it would allow him to really hit a real rock bottom. the ticket guys tried to do that, but he has his safety net of sycophants that won't be real with him. it's sad, man.

ultimately, this is on the hammer. but if he ends up OD'ing on medication, the people that enabled him will have a drop of blood on their hands. the ones that turned their backson him after sitting through all the lies and multiple rehabs were actually trying to save his life. if you can't see that, then you are a misguided, uninformed moron.

That was completely uncomfortable but it was nice that Greggo reprised Corby's character "The Interrupter". Wow.
