Guaranteed your Tuesday was better than the Texas Rangers.

Josh Hamilton back on the disabled list. Another reminder why they can never ever trust Vicente Padilla. Allowed a 7-run inning to the Yankees, biggest against them all season. Even TV analyst Tom Grieve suffered a hamstring cramp during the telecast.

Oh yeah, and Yankees 12, Rangers 3. Not a good start a tell-tale 13-game stretch against the best teams in baseball.

After four games so far this season, it's not unfair to say the Rangers don't belong in the same class as New York. Cumulative score: Yankees 35, Rangers 13.

Ouch.

This one looked hideously familiar. Padilla hit batters. He balked in a run. The Rangers' defense failed to turn a key double play. The offense produced its only runs came via a home run.

One game doesn't denote a trend. Does four?

Well after june 4th ,Padilla has pitched well. The problem is that he doesnt get alone with Texeira. Remember Clemens and Piazza.Teixera doesnt have enough balls to get a confrontation with Padilla.

I'm hoping this year's Rangers team is the equivalent of the '91 Cowboys - one last season of being in over their heads before finally delivering on the promise of their young talent. Because even as bad as the AL Worst is this year, it's hard to envision a team who keeps getting beaten so soundly by all the good teams eventually making the playoffs. We should probably enjoy their rollercoaster ride this year, and prepare for a legitimiate run next season.
Rangers win tonight. Freaking out about these four Yankees games is a little much. The Rangers have been caught in the headlights of the Yankees first hot streak of the season. Since June 7th the Yankees are 21-7 and have been handling every team coming their way. Rangers are 1-3 in four games, and a win in the next two games would leave them at 2-4 vs the Yankees this season so far, which I would be fairly happy with given the status of both teams during those games. Yes, Padilla is a nut and was coming off the disabled list. Losing Hamilton, considering his recent performance, really doesn't make a big difference. The Rangers are beating the cover off the ball vs bad to mediocre teams and often competitive against better teams. That is exactly what you have to do to make the post season.
Rangers win by 5 tonight.
Not to be too much of a Ranger apologist, but Morgan to Concepcion to Perez couldn't have turned that double play last night. Other than that, you're about spot on.
Do they still have Beat The Yankee Hankey night? The hankey nicely doubled as a flag of surrender.
