See Ya, Padilla

• I think a few have jumped the gun on this one. This may be nothing more than a slap on the wrist. He was in the dugout the next night. Padilla is scheduled to start this weekend.

• As Norm would say, "GRAB A FAJITA!"

• He spent the evening mistaking Mark Teixeira for the strike zone, meaning the guy was trying to get tossed. It's one thing to have a whack job pitcher, it's another to have a whack job who has lost his nerve to pitch.

• I don't think so... Padilla always seemed utterly aloof and frankly disinterested in any of the 'team' aspects of the game. His force wasn't divisive like TO's... I don't think there will be any other guys in the clubhouse missing Vicente's sense of humor (translated through an interpreter, no less... how long has he been in the league? 12 years? And he still doesn't even try to communicate with teammates.) Headcase? Yeah. TO? Tap the breaks. I'm of the thought that yes, we will miss his veteran arm, but it just makes me think JD and Nolan are gearing up to go get a more reliable veteran on the market this summer. Happy Trails, Vince.

• Sure Padilla is a headcase, but when he's "on" he is still a WELL above average pitcher. I'm a little conflicted by this move, I agree w/ WashHater - wish the Rags could have netted something in return. Think there was T.O. type "locker room issues" with Padilla that ultimately sealed his fate???

• Seems that way, but why didn't they trade him in the offseason for something of value, and I'm worried that the young talent on the team won't be able to maintain the entire season. Of course, Padilla may have only gone downhill as well.
