Less Kevin Scott. Sad.
Less Greg Hill. Happy.
More Sean Salisbury. Sad.
More The Argument. Happy.
Overall: Push.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 3:46PMThe Hardline made a mistake in not adding K-Scott to the team...he was by far the best replacement of Greggo that was tested out. Please Ticket, add Kevin to the Hardline, my ride home needs him.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 3:50PMWhy this show? Barry Horn's hour-by-hour breakdown of the ratings showed Ben & Skin were faring much worse against ESPN & The Ticket.
Maybe K-Scott could turn up again at The Ticket. I always was a fan of his.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 3:59PMIf I'm K-Scott, every year on June 22nd I'm sending Greg Hill a shit sandwich.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:02PMDamn shame about K-Scott.
Greg Hill was unlistenable.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:15PMNewy and Sean are horrible! So now instead of turning off THE FAN from noon to three I now have five hours of wandering around the dial. And don't tell me to listen to Norm because that voice of his makes me cry.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:20PMThere are rumors around the internet that Ben & Skin will be out next.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:28PMI don't understand the purpose of Ben and Skin taking calls if they're going to treat some good callers like shit. The guys at The Ticket do it but they don't make a point of taking calls and they have ratings. I remember a statement Ben and Skin made on their Saturday Ticket show. They said the only sport they really follow is basketball. What would they do without the internet?
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:29PMsurely not.... oh no.... it can't be
geggo can it???
Well, I guess we know which poster got dissed on the Ben and Skin show....
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:52PMdamn that sucks...I like Kevin Scott and Greg Hill grew on me. Stay hard K Scott!
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 4:53PMi was getting use to them also. i'm NOT a fan of Scruggs & Salisbury.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 5:02PMRight there with ya Rooster.
I liked KScott back in the day when before he began his journey away from the nurturing biosphere of the Mothership and he was by far the better member of the recent show. Greg Hill made me want to hit something. I gave them a try but it was a non-starter.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 5:05PMGagree DirtyP1,
I wasn't a Greg Hill fan at first, but he and K-Scott were beginning to get some chemistry going.
I liked their show format, they didn't always stay glued to the same 2-3 sports stories of the day and they went above and beyond when it came to including the listener.
Not to mention, I cannot get kTicket in my office on the radio and the bandwidth of the entire office suffers when someone streams online.
Guess it's back to the 'ol iPod during work hours
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 5:08PMBeefy,
This will all be moot when Cumulus has to sell of the station and the new company can't afford the talent at the Ticket. I like what the Fan is trying to do and wish the Hardline would have moved over during the contract period, supposedly Rhyner was close to doing that???
Anyways, I stopped complaining about the Ticket's signal. They are never going to do anything to improve it. At least all the hosts make fun of it instead of ignoring it like the elephant in the room.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 5:13PM @DirtyP1
If Cumulus goes bankrupt then those big Ticket contracts may be voided. Like I said last week, maybe CBS will buy KTCK and put The Ticket at 105.3 and make 1310 a sort of farm club for sports talk talent. It's a thought, so have good and get a little give.
The day of the big contract is over for on air talent of terrestrial radio. It's a crime that Limbaugh is making a shit load of money while Clear Channel is firing so many people to avoid bankruptcy.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 5:38PMA lot of people seem to think that Ben and Skin are next to go. I hope they just change their time slot to say..........12p-3p.
6a-10a: Jagger
10a-12p: Newy and Sean
12p-3p: Ben and Skin
3p-7p: RMS
7p-whenever: M-Rod and Pete
I think that lineup would work. RMS is still under contract/getting paid so why not bring him back once he is found not guilty?
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 6:55PMIt amazes me how brain dead the Russ Martinites can be.
Yes, he's under contract.
Yes, they're still paying him.
Yes, he was still pulling great ratings up until the time he was cut loose.
The REASON he got cut loose was it didn't matter what his ratings were. Advertisers bolted in droves because NONE of them them wanted to be associated with a wife beater.
OJ, er um, I mean Russ isn't coming back on the air anytime soon, because they won't be able to sell him.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 7:51PMI agree that KScott was better than G Hill by a mile. BUT he sucked on the Ticket IMHO. He tried too hard. He was cocky and full of himself since his days with The HotSpot years ago. Decent chemistry with Dick Hicks (Quack) but I personally don't want to hear his stories of how he was gonna kick the ass of some Starbuck's barista or someguy that pissed him off in traffic anymore, and those were frequent during his last year or so on K-ticket. Let him go back to Austin and talk Longhorns, or maybe he can do overnight board-op at 103.3.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 9:46PMKScott had a death warrant the minute Greg Hill showed up. I'm sure KScott will land on his feet, let's hope it's locally.
I second the Ticket buying out 105.3 and moving there. Though the static is kinda part of the fun.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 11:26PMI never said they would bring the RMS. I was merely posting what I wish would happen.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 22 2009 @ 11:45PMI had a short email conversation with the Catman of the Americas about kscott and apparently he didn't want to be on the Ticket for some unknown reason. Cat didn't say if he offered the Hardline spot or not, just that he didn't want to be there anymore.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 7:00AMBen and Skin SUCK!!! they need to go!!!
KScott is genius, i hope the ticket finds a spot fo him.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 7:04AMPutting K-Scott with Greg Hill would be like running a pick roll with Tony Parker and Erick Dampier.
It just wasn't ever going to work because, like somebody else said, Hill was unlistenable.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 7:18AMHate to hear that for KScott. He seemed like a good due and he was pretty good on The Ticket. The fact that Ben & Skin still have a job is amazing. They have NOTHING. The Fan has obviously invested too much in these spares to cut them loose but, it'll happen sooner or later.
Stay hard Kevin Scott!!
Rooster your a moron. You have no idea what your talking about. RMS ratings went down. Bottom line. Thats a fact and its public information.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 9:16AMI've always felt that with a little tweeking, Danny & Dave could do a little something. My ticket line-up would be...
Move BAD to morning
Keep Norm 10-12
Move Danny & Dave to 12-3
Move Corby to over-nite security gaurd
Move Rhyner to Pleasant Acres
Move Muser's to 3-7
...thar ya have it!
@Steve - RMS ratings went down lower than Ben & Skin's current ratings?
Might want to check your book again there, Bub...
Russ Martin could broadcast over a walkie-talkie, and pull more people.
The bottom line is it doesn't matter what he would pull. Advertisers won't have anything to do with him, and THAT is how the station makes their money.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 10:13AMThe Scott/Hill nutpunch show getting canned is about as surprising as Sosa testing positive for 'roids. Loved KScott on the Ticket, but Hill...terrrrrrible. Not only was he annoying, but stupid on top of that. Good riddance.
Only reason I ever listen to that show was when Norm was doing an interview, which is like nails on the chalkboard. Especially when talking to some guy who climbed a mountain or some boxing guru or a handicapper. Listening makes me want to rip off my ears, set them on fire then bury them.
Funny how any radio thread on this board turns up a "Corby sucks" comment, a "Where's Greggo" mention or a "Rhyner needs to retire" plea.
The Fan should have gone with KScott with somebody else...anybody else. Don't reach for the "big name" -- you can see how well it's working on the Michael Irvin Show. Who were the Ticket guys before they were, well, the Ticket guys -- just guys.
Also, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for "a guy." If you strike out, you pick another guy. If he succeeds, you look like a genius.
Just an idea, and I'm a business/radio idiot so maybe it's unreasonable, but why doesn't The Ticket go back to independent status? Maybe try to buy themselves from Cumulus and run themselves?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 10:31AMI enjoyed K-Scott and Greg Hill. Entertaining talk radio that was not all sports. I will miss them. Big ups to Jesus.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 11:34AMI really hope Ben & Skin stay they are hilarious. I miss Russ but I didn't think his legal troubles where why he left. The entire station switched formats and he isn't a sports guy at all. And now that they have the Ranger and Cowboy games, it makes even more sense that was the plan all along.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 12:01PM@Rhino
I don't think the Kticketers would want to buy a station, and have to deal with all the headaches. Sales, talent $$$, etc. This is probably Rhyner's last contract, are they doing year to year right now or how long did they sign?
I enjoy listening to Rhyner still, I wish he had a better sidekick, Corby is a yuck monkey. You need guys that are even keel and mature, i.e. Musers, and yuck monkeys, i.e. Gordo and Corby, stay where they are. Gordo is way above Corby on talent, except when he's suicidal.

Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 12:47PMGreg and Kevin were gone on Friday and Ben and Skin will be gone this Friday. Sean and Newy come back next week and Dan O'Malley is telling anyone who will listen that he is going to be doing afternoon drive with Sean. That spells doom for Benjamin and Skinjamin.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 12:49PMI couldn't listen to their show because Greg was such an idiot. Last week he actually accused Mel Hall's victim of being partially to blame. What a joke. Kscott should have been given a purple heart instead of losing his job.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 12:52PMThus ushering in the return of Scott Murray to reclaim his sports throne? Huh? Huh?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 1:46PMWell I have to admit. I let the smooth taste fool me because I thought that K-Scott and Greg Hill were on vacation until Dan said that he was filling in for Newy and Sean when it was only 10 am.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 2:12PMThey really must have given Ben and Skin a mighty mighty contract to have them last this long with those ratings and to fire someone with better ratings after what? 6 months?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 3:05PMThis seems to all be falling into place nicely. Word being spread on this here blog is that Mike Irvin is not going to be renewed at ESPN. KScott and Marblemouth Hill are out at The Fan. Who better to bring over to the new home of the Cowboys than Mike? This whole not resigning with ESPN is going to fit in nicely just about the time training camp hits.
Can I get a "Bingo!" Richie?
I have been know to predict the future you know. See GEllis to the Raiders some time back.
Sincerely,
Socrates
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 3:25PMI actually enjoyed K-Scott and G-Hill's show. I would like to see the Ticket get rid of Bob & Dan and whatever the token black dude's name is. The only part of their show that is decent is "why today doesn't suck". Newy and Sean! They need to build the lineups around them!
I agree that Ben & Skin will be next to go.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 5:55PMSheamus, does that mean Sean will be on for seven hours each day?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 5:57PMg-money: you possibly have the worst taste in hosts ever. I bet you miss Tom Leykis too?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 6:06PMJJ, this means that the most formidable duo in Dallas radio will be splitting up and Sean and Newy will be with new hosts at some point in the near future. Time slots TBD but the smart money has Sean doing afternoon drive. And I like this gig. Or maybe I just misunderstood the question.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 6:24PMThanks, Sheamus. Any idea who Newy will end up with?
Posted On: Tuesday, Jun. 23 2009 @ 6:48PMRhyner's segment should be called "Why Today DOES Suck...And He's Sitting Right Here With Me"!!!
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 2:38AMK-Scott & G-Hill in the AM grew on me. I cannot get the Ticket in the office. ESPN is lame with the "TERD". I wanted to see what G-Hill had to say once Roy Williams put up 1K yards & 10 TD's this year. Hook 'em. Sean & Newey SUCK. The first time I heard them they are arguing back & forth about who was the bigger failure. Trainwreck!!! Very unstable. Ben & Skin are fine. Cannot stand the evening guys tough. Too boring.
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 9:59AMI don't know if they named the Fan that because they wanted it driven by the listeners, but to me if Ben & Skin are constantly taking phone calls it means they got nuthin to say and have run out of material. They had plenty of semi-funny stuff when filling in on 1310, but an everyday show they cannot fill. During Hardline commercial breaks I might check in on Ben & Skin, and they're always going from call to call and the subject is changing constantly. So you get one thought about the Rangers, then the Boys, then Mavs, and poor Tim Cowlishaw is praying to get reunited with Max Kellerman on Around the Horn!
They tried to imitate the cock of the walk, but they're just "2 bit Ticket imitators"...
-Suck it bitch
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 10:15AMHope K Scott shows up on the ticket somewhere.
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 11:34AMDoes anyone really believe Dan O'Malley can carry a show regardless of sidekick? He's a freaking call screener who was brought into that mess that used to be on in the afternoons on 105.3
This is DALLAS for turds sake. DFW the #5 (?) market in the freaking country and the best they can do is Dan O'Malley???
Shoot me now.
Long live the little Ticket.
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 2:07PMyou think b&s want to take calls all day? you have no idea what the F you are talking about. they are the best show on that station right now.
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 2:13PMYeah their station low ratings are proof of that.
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 2:52PMI blame those lame baseball games for their ratings! I don't care, I still think they are the best show on that station.
K SCOTT AND GREG HILL WERE THE BEST SHOW ON THIS STATION, NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO LISTEN TO?
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 24 2009 @ 7:05PMI can actually say, I grew to like K. Scott and Greg Hill, I actually listened to them until 12n then switched to Mike Irvin show. I guess I'm in the minority so they got the ax. Crud! Back to 103.3! See Ya!
Posted On: Thursday, Jun. 25 2009 @ 10:39AM1. Agree with most that K.Scott belongs back at the Ticket.
2. Also that Greg Hill was the problem.
3. Ben and Skin are witty, but I'd like longer, more serious sports analysis. Cowlishaw contributes little.
4. Don't mind Corby as Greggo's replacement. But I wonder how much longer the Hardline can maintain things. They don't have a Gordon Keith around to keep things exciting every day.
5. Have just about quit listening to BAD radio. Three guys in the booth is a bit much. Dan is the weakest link on the Ticket.
6. Dunham and Miller keep rolling along, making good radio look effortless.
Posted On: Thursday, Jun. 25 2009 @ 12:13PMI like KScott but couldn't stand GHill. He was such an idiot. I bet KScott was sick and tired of having to put up with his ridiculous arguments. I was just waiting for the day that KScott accidentally dropped the N word out of frustration.
PS
I'm proud to say that "I never listen to BAD Radio"
Not sure what the station is trying to achieve from a listening audience. Its difficult to develop a following if you can’t be consistent with your programs. I have pretty much been an ESPN fan but unfortunately can’t get the station in my office. I grew to develop an interest in the 105.3 programming only to see that there is no consistency. Back to the ipod.
Posted On: Friday, Jun. 26 2009 @ 4:13PMWhy would you get rid of Kevin Scott? Newy and Sean are awful. This proves that the fan won't last. The ticket rules. Hopefully Kevin will get a job with the ticket again.
Posted On: Friday, Jun. 26 2009 @ 9:04PMoh no ben and skin is not doing well.....
rating look ugly like sam cassell....
oh no newy scruggs is not doing well....
from noon to 3 i stay BAD as hell...
If the FAN management had any sense (they don't), They would have canned Hill and kept KScott.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 29 2009 @ 9:19AMMost underappreciatted good radio in town is BDH on 1360...just wish he completely filled the Hardline slot.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 29 2009 @ 10:11AMJagger being on vacation only delays inevitable changes by a week. The Ticket has had basically the same lineup for over a decade. The fan changes lineups weakly. No wonder no one wants to listen. J Kelly is on the money.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 29 2009 @ 1:38PMjagger is currently looking for a new station.
expect an announcement next week.
ben & skin have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
"don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!" - greggo
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 29 2009 @ 1:49PMAccording to radio-info.com b&s are very ready to get out of there.
Posted On: Monday, Jun. 29 2009 @ 5:18PMGood riddance to Greg Hill, the arrogant pompous ass, know it all, who could hardly finish a sentence without sounding like he was a bit retarded.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jul. 7 2009 @ 10:06PMKevin Scott was a smooth, knowledgeable pro. Greg Hill was your typical mush mouthed black who butchered the English language and thought he knew everything about everything. Greg Hill was a joke. The difference between Hill and Scott were black and white in more then one way.
Posted On: Tuesday, Jul. 7 2009 @ 10:24PMWow, Ryan "mush mouthed black" tell us how you really feel.
Posted On: Friday, Jul. 10 2009 @ 12:21PMEven though Greg Hill's logic was a bit off at times, him and kscott were the most entertaining hosts. whoever is running the station is obviously very confused. Look at the amount of time changes that were made within the past 6months. I hope the station fails.
Posted On: Friday, Jul. 10 2009 @ 11:13PMthe greg hill and kevin scott show was the best show ever because you could call in to receive a nice and informative conversation without a wait on the line for half an hour, you get on in 2 minutes at the most, they even remember their fans of the show, i would call in saying my name and that i wear a packer beanie and they refereed to me as mitch in plano with the packer beanie, it was interesting to hear the racist comments by everyone in calling and greg hill as well, i think k scott should be on the ticket or some other show, personally i listened to it 9 to 12 almost everyday and wish that this never fucking happened....
Posted On: Sunday, Jul. 12 2009 @ 9:34AM105.3 seems to not really know exactly what they want......Greg Hill was a beating......But the other guy was good....I liked Ben and Skin......But Sean and Dan are great, also...One thing is for sure, 105.3 will continue to screw over their listeners by hiring and firing and keeping the public in the dark on what they are doing......Any day now I expect to hear another couple hours of marching band music signaling another format change.....As long as they keep Jagger, I will keep listening....
Posted On: Sunday, Jul. 12 2009 @ 1:04PMGood luck K-Scott and Ben and Skin! These are the best guys in the business. They made my day. Sean is a great sports guy too. Very disappointed in 105.3 the fan K-Scott always had an upHILL battle.
