BREAKING NEWS: Michael Crabtree Coming (to Dallas) and Going (to the NFL)

Michael Crabtree.jpgIn news that should surprise no one, Michael Crabtree's last college game will be Jan. 2 in the last Cotton Bowl played in Dallas. No official announcement, but I hear the Texas Tech All-World receiver and two-time Biletnikoff Award winner is making plans for the future.

And they include more Dallas than Lubbock.

Seems he's coming home for the Cotton Bowl. And he may be staying awhile.

According to a source, Crabtree, a former star at Carter High School, plans to participate in Deion Sanders' "Prime U" workout camps at SMU aimed at getting prospects ready for professional football in general and the NFL Scouting Combine in specific.

More proof that he's planning for a profitable future as a Top 5 draft pick, Crabtree has also tabbed Dallas' Anthony "Paco" Montoya to be his professional personal assistant. Montoya, if you remember, served the same function for a pretty decent Dallas receiver of the past - Michael Irvin.

Now, if the Cowboys could finagle a way to draft Crabtree and make him get a permanent home here. - Richie Whitt

Seth C says:

For what it's worth, Crabtree attended Prime Time's camp last year, so that may not be much of an indicator as the other items you've mentioned.

He is so injury prone that I would be fearful to draft him too high. But he is a great player and a stud.

Hey you idiots re: the "sources" etc...the first sentence of the post is "In news that should surprise no one,"

Get over yourself you dorks.

jamal says:

adam, i'm not sure how you can classify someone who never missed a game as "injury prone." it was one ankle injury (a broken ankle, per espn) in the a&m game two months ago that never completely healed (because he was too busy playing on it and kicking ass).

tj says:

He attended Prime U camp last year as well. If he declares for the draft he will probably work out at a facility in Arizona, New Jersey, Florida or Canada. The last person to learn how to run a 40 yard dash from is Deon Sanders, naturally gifted people can have flawed technique and still run fast

Deion S. says:

Yes, Crabtree is attending my camp...but at what level??

Here's some more BREAKING NEWS:

After Crabtree attends Deion's SMU camp, he will immediately travel to Michael Irvin's NFL Preparatory Camp, where he will learn such important skills as how to snort coke off a whore's ass.

redraider says:

For the record, Mike didn't want to go to the league. He wanted to stay an additional year. However, his father makes the decisions, and he decided it was time. No this shouldn't be a shocker, because last year it was his father who said if he did as well this year as he had last year her would be leaving.

of no importance says:

Interested to see how he does in the league. Big time receivers from the big time XII have not faired so well the past couple year. See Kelly, Malcolm; Williams, (uno uno)Roy; Sweed, Limas; and that Woods spare from lOSUr.

Raiderriffic says:

Crabs has better technique and talent than any of the aforementioned...by a lonnnngshot. He should kick some arse in the NFL. He has been a man-among-boys for his two, prolific years in the Big XII. There are many, many plays which he has made that most NFL receivers could not have pulled off. He will be a stud in the league.

Raiderfan says:

Michael Crabtree I hope you are watching out for Michael. Some "Primetime" people respects "no one but self"..History and attitude not a good influence in my opionion. I say let actions speak load enough.. You seem like a good guy watch out for "primetime" in my opionion...

Crabs good luck you deserve the best. Trust your family David Wells and other direct family be careful of others..
