• @Mike: Touche. @Anonymous/Americano: While I agree the ploy is legal, it's also steeped in sorriness. You get the feeling those coaches will also someday teach their kids to drive on the shoulder, or the grass if need be, in order to circumvent a traffic jam and "get ahead." But it's also a good lesson to the trickees. Trust no one.

• Tricked a bunch of eight year olds? How old are the coaches of the DEFENSIVE team? Older than eight I bet. They were the fools. THE WHISTLE NEVER BLEW! The first rule of football is the play ain't over until the whistle blows.

• Congradulations big guy, you tricked a bunch of 8 year olds. Now go home, kick the cat and beat up your wife to celebrate.. you deserve it.

• Live and learn suckers. Trick plays have been around since the beginning of time. If they happen to you, you say the other team sucks. If you think of it, they are brilliant.

• If the defense and other team's coaches are dumb enough to fall for it, so be it.

• Not quite the Annexation of Puerto Rico a la Little Giants, but pretty cool.

• No different than the fake spiking it to stop the clock play. Don't think it'd work at the NFL though. You'd need better acting, plus the QB isn't going to be able to outrun everyone.

• i would rank it right up there with the last-second time out before a field goal. i don't understand how it's even a legal play. but, whatever the case, it's pretty chicken-shit.

• Is Wade Phillips calling defensive plays already?
