Another radio industry source tells me just now that Live 105.3 is indeed shifting its midday focus toward sports and former Ticket hosts.

But instead of Greg Williams and Mike Fisher, Ben & Skin have landed the gig.

Bonehead move guys, I'll be listening to another station now after 3 loyal years. Ben & Skin are forced and not in the least bit funny. If they and their buddies didnt post the 1st blogs there would be no positive comments here. Why change a good thing dimwits?
this is most likely fake. They are using the call letters WFAN. Stations in this area can not have call letters starting with a W. There are a few other things that give this away but this is the most important one that cant be disputed.
After listening for a few weeks and giving Ben & Skin a try I must say they totally suck. I just can't relate to anything these guys blabber about. They are boring, tired, uninteresting and rarely funny. I'd rather listen to David Lee R. and he sucked big time too. Bad choice for 105.3. Hopefully their ratings will prove my point and they will be replaced soon!

Yeah, they don't always talk about sports, only about 95% of the time. They also talk bad about small towns around the Dallas area and about meaningless things like obscure hip hop artists, bowel movements, centaurs, and sushi. They also tell extremely long drawn out stories with little to no punchlines. You'll also hear about "rockin deuces", "mustered bombs" and women that are "juggy". If you want to make a few hours seem like weeks, this is the show for you.
Congrats Ben and Skin. You guys deserved your own show. I am tunning in daily. Ben you look like Mark Cuban's twin in your picture above next to the Benandskin.com. Good luck with your new show!~
Ben and Skin are pretty funny and theyre not all sports. Give them a chance folks. Pugs and Kelly were alright. Bummer they had to go. Why is Russ Martin still popular? His fake bits show is still horrible.

This is GREAT NEWS! Now I don't have to feel so badly for turning off the Ticket when these no talent jackasses come on. They'll do just a bit better than dead air in the next radio ratings book.

Ben & Skin will do good, these guys have something, have a good chance. Russ Martin on the other hand is the most over-rated radio show host in recent DFW history. If you like to hear middle age men over-giggling like school girls at any sound emanating from their bosses mouth, RM Show is for you. Also throw in a big dose of dead air, constant Russ butt kissing, and there you have a show who's days have got to be numbered.
Ben & Skin will replace the russ martin show by this time next yr. beware the ides of august, hardline.

I get a cool radio to listen to at work, and now they switch formats... I've been listening to 105.3 for 7 years now (ever since coming to Texas), at least I still have the Russ and Jagger shows...
What is Gavin thinking!?!?! This format is going to suck for the female population (and I'm sure a few men also). We don't need another sport talk show. I can't wait to hear where Pugs & Kelly go and I will be tuning into them and I hope they blow Ben and Skin out of the water with their ratings! If you hire any Ben and Skin it should have been Mr. Skin and Ben Stein then I would have possibly tuned in. I'm so disappointed!

The genteel and insightful "Anonymous" has clearly never heard the genius of B&S. That, or he is too much of a simpleton to understand and appreciate real humor. If his prefernce is Greggo, I am guessing that he likely lives with his Mom, regularily eats TV dinners, and that his favorite all-time movie is Jackass. I'll hang up and listen.

P&K sucked. Dan is ok on the Russ Martin show, but his own show wasn't to impressive, when he filled in middays. To many people trying to be funny at once, leading to everyone trying to talk over each other. A mess. BDH was ok, but sometimes it just seemed to drag on. It was enjoyable though.
They obviously aren't going to talk about sports the whole time. Why is everyone jumping to conclusion? They would fill in on a sports program... and they did what they were supposed to. I'm sure they know what they are doing. I mean, anything can be better than P&K, right?

its a great day for those of us who wanted more Ben & Skin on the ticket. its a bad day for bad radio. not sure if this will hurt michael irvin though as he has a totally diff't audience than the former boys from ktck. i really find it interesting on the time slot. there was serious tension b/w ben & skin vs sturm. very, very juicy. let the battle begin!

Thank God they are off the ticket. Their fill-in shifts for Hardline 2.0 were instant punch-outs, plus I can listen on Saturday's now after the Orphanage. Thank God!!!

I disagree with everything Tom Leykis is but I still listen bc it is REALLY good radio! He gets me worked up and that is the point! Give these guys a chance.They are funny on every level! Ben & Skin? That's the best they could come up with for a market this size? They must be working for peanuts. When Ben & Skin fill in on The Ticket I tune out. Their bits aren't even remotely funny. They remind me of Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. Maybe we could get them a local access cable show somewhere. Using the excuse that "they have another full-time job" outside radio is weak. I did radio in this market part-time for 4 years and could run circles around them.

I can't wait for Big Dick Hunter to be off the radio during mid days. However it is another radio personality coming from The Ticket. Hopefully Ben & Skin will have something more to offer than the current babbling that has occupied middays. If it were my choice I would hope CBS would use the exisiting talent already on 105.3 and promote within.

I am a Bob and Dan P1, but I wish Ben and Skin well. They are talented guys who can talk alot more than just sports. I was hoping the Ticket could hang on to them until Norm hangs it up. Ben and Skin would have been a nice fit there.

Geez people calm the hell down. a couple of things. This is the only chance 105.3 ever had of me tuning into their station, at all. I'm a fan of Ben and Skin and you people that think they've sucked in everyday situations before aren't completely off base. But what yuo need to consider is that they've never been ina position where they could actually do the required planning for each show that every other fulltime radio show does. Up until now, B&S have been working fulltime jobs and doing radio on the side. Both are very talented and I'm certain when they get the opportunity to focus more specifically on their radio gig, genius will follow. Secondly, I mourn for the ticket's post mavs-game loss. There's little to no chance I'm gonna tune in to Stu Seder and Donovan. I like Donnie, but the best thing about ben and especially skin is that basketball is their first love. Skin is a complete freak when it comes to that stuff. and in conclusion... its funny that Greggo is now playing second fiddle to a couple of ex-fill-in guys. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

If this is true I can't wait to listen!! I love the dynamic these two guys have from knowing eachother so long! I hear that they are shifting what they talk about anyway so more talk and less sports. Ben and Skin can talk Mavs, but overall they are sports talk lite and should do fine talking pop culture and what not....

And, why (I assume) another sports show. There's already two stations that do a good enough job. The main reason I don't listen to the Ticket anymore is because I really don't care about sports these days. Nothing against the shows, I just wasn't interested in the primary subject matter. Starting to look like another David Lee Roth. B&S fill in until whoever they really want is available.

Guess this is supposed to be like Howard Stern's channel with Scott Ferrall. Don't care for sports talk, I switch away when he comes on. He is good at what he does but I don't need hours upon hours of sports talk.
