Your Last Greg Williams Item For At Least a Week

Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 08:00:44 AM
Appearing live next Tuesday at an awards show near you!

Since you’ll have to go cold turkey while I’m on vacation next week, thought I’d empty out my Hammer notebook before I skedaddle.

Talked to Greggo last night – he was in Decatur serving as executor of his dad’s will, which meant figuring out what to do with seven boats and four Cadillacs – and he had some good news and an intriguing hint.

First, he confirmed he’ll be an awards presenter at next Tuesday’s Dallas Observer Music Awards show.

Second, though he still plans to nail down his ESPN gig before Cowboys’ camp end of next week, expect him to at least talk with Live 105.3 about their new Noon-3 p.m. opening in the wake of Pugs & Kelly’s departure. He said coyly that his potential partner there would seriously ruffle some P1 feathers.

Hmm. Rocco? Line 4 guy? Or, my guess, this guy? -- Richie Whitt

Greggo's Coke-Scarred Septum says:

BaD Radio would kick the proverbial asses Greggo and any partner (other than Rhyner).

FUCK GREGGO ! !

Fraggy says:

geez, another vacation? who do you think are a ticket host? you've obviously been way too emersed in the greggo story...lol

interesting news about greggy, btw. i'm just wondering what the over-and-under will be on when he actually gets to take a call about sports when he finally gets back on the air with all the questions he'll get about the ticket situation. i'm thinking in terms of days(?)

Bob Sturm says:

nip

Tom says:

What would the name of the show be if it were Rocco and Greggo?

"The Wronged By Rhyner Show"?

Eff Reagan says:

How about Greggo and BDH, live from the brothel....Nevermind they already did that

Norm says:

Nip.

Gunga says:

Greggo and Mike Fisher?

I would listen.

jay says:

Greg: Take the next possible job you can and do everything possible to move to 3-7pm.

awesome says:

i love bad radio, but i will give the hammerhead fish program a shot

artie says:

russ martin used to try to get under the ticket's skin by pulling nasty tricks on them. if 105 wants to really get under their skin, they hire greggo.
and then, once theyre under their skin, they should hire fish.... and totally f with their heads.
i love bob, but put me down for an 'I'd Listen' vote.

Hockeypuck says:

Do anyone ever listen to Greggo when Mike was gone? The only good radio that came out of it was the interview with the Chief Kunckle.

The show will last five minutes.

Jesus says:

Greg is GOD of metroplex radio. May he bless us with his presence once again.

Junior Miller says:

Enough about Hammer. Let's talk about me.

Robert says:

I moved from Dallas during all the where's Greggo period. I'm not much for commitment to anything, but I did not turn my radio dial to anything else other than the ticket except on an occasional playoff basketball game or something like that for probably a decade. It hurt me to see Greggo go. I was really sad about it, but as I reflect on it now Greggo was an entertaining second wheel. I wish he was still there. I listened when he hosted by himself and I rooted for him, but he simply didn't have the skills to man a show. I've read the Hard Lie several times now. I listen online when I can. I wish Greggo the best of luck but I can't help but feel like maybe his current teases to be back on the air are much like his "I hit a home run in the Majors" story. I guess time will tell. Also reading the hard Lie I can't help but feel like Greg is even more surrounded by people who aren't his friends, but of course I am not there, so how can I possibly know. I just hope he finds his happiness and his balance and I wish him well.

maxim says:

greggo, fish and a freed russ martin is an afternoon worth listening to. would greggo-fish do just sports, or general talk?

Sturminator says:

Nip....Nip....Rectum

he who can't be named says:

have another marlboro red bitch.

Roadside Couch says:

Fisher and Williams! LOL
Hammer must be really despirate.
He used to trash Fisher on the Hardline. Can't think of a more boring combo unless Williams is still snorting and producing more "Do you like this gig" moments to counter Fisher's snorefest.

alfred says:

'des pirate'? is that french?
lemme guess, roadside: you are a P1, aren't you?

Fake Tom Hicks says:

Great Success.
