They MUST bring Russ back!!! While I'll admit things do look really bad, we've only heard one side of the story. I realize he can't say too much just yet but he's gotta say something. His listeners are very, very loyal. He can't just disappear without a word. I know I won't feel right until I hear from him.

WTF ever Russ is going No where and something sounds very suspect about this either way. I think Russ is either pulling the Ultimate Hose Job on everyone or Amy, the alleged victim, is truly trying to screw Russ. We know nothing about this except for Amy's side of the story. We do not know what happened nor should you judge Russ before you know the facts. I know first hand people can be vindictive and @holes. Maybe Russ broke up with her she got mad, got into a fight then accused Russ. See rumors are as easy as that.

I don't know what's more revolting to me about this story: that his P1's think the girl must have deserved whatever Russ did to her OR the way the police went out of their way to protect the bastard.

If Howard Stern was never syndicated in Dallas years ago, Russ Martin would be a failure. Everything he does on the radio he owes to Howard (and even moreso now, Bubba the Love Sponge). I just don't understand how he gets listeners. I tried listening to his show years ago and it is not even a good rip-off of Stern. It is unlistenable.

It takes a really tough guy to threaten/assault a woman. Way to go Russ!

Russ` statement sounds typical. I`d be very supprized if he airs today - I would imagine his full-retail-charging defense would want a finger on the delay to stop him blabbing anything.

There's no "If this all turns out to be true" to it. Richie was right, the police confirmed it yesterday. You don't need any further information to prove that Richie was right. He said Russ was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. The arrest warrant indicates that Russ was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. Case closed.

Now, a legal determination of whether or not Russ Martin violated the law by committing the conduct alleged? That's still in the air. But, then again, Richie's information was about the source of the arrest and not an allegation of particular conduct. The police arrested him for what Richie said the police arrested him for, and that's confirmation, period.

He says he has a source who fed him information. If you have information about Richie historically pulling sources out of his ass, or information that indicates that he fabricated a source and made a wild guess in this case, you're welcome to present it, but without something to back up the claim, Richie Whitt wins the credibility battle between competing claims over WhiplashChick.

My best guess is that you didn't understand what you read, and you thought you read this:

I'm related to someone with inside details on this and I'm writing because this frankly makes me sick. Russ' entourage is circling the wagons around him furiously so they don't lose their "clubhouse".

The Russ Martin Camp is currently trying to make this issue "go away" by offering to plead guilty to a much lesser offense. This of course involves making a financial offer to his ex-fiance for the tape and her willingness to recant some of the more damning details of her story and drop all charges. You see, Russ was surprised by a few things. He didn't expect that he had really left any physical evidence on his now ex-fiance. He also believed, due to similar incidents in the past, that he would be able to smooth this over with her. He didn't expect the police to be so responsive to her either but her case luckily got a female judge that is NOT a fan! Of course, the biggest surprise for him was that she left with an audio tape that he knows would be damning in court and to his career.

So, this now depends upon whether or not he can offer her enough money for her to allow him out of this. That's the big IF right now. Also, it took a couple of days, but now that the CBS brass has gotten ahold of this, they are very unhappy. Realizing the potential community backlash if they allow him to return to the air; considerations are being made to dismiss him based upon standard "morals clauses".

And last but not least, part of the IRS investigation involves the Russ Martin Listeners Foundation. You can draw your own conclusions about that.

no Eric we are not finding him guilty. He does work for CBS that has stockholders and sponsors to answer to and that is who decides his guilt RIGHT NOW in the court of public opinion. They have to deal with the IMMEDIATE fall out from this.
I predict there will be a plea bargain down the road and RM will go to another market. But he will not be able to work in the DFW with that charge hanging over his head. Every day they don't let him back on the air is an indication of whether he will ever be back. Sponsors of RMS made be okay with it but sponsors of other shows and other syndicated talent may not want to be linked in any wasy with RMS.

i wonder if Opie & Anthony will be brought back to DFW (via pre-taped delay) to take RMS's place if Russ gets fired for what he did. i loved the RMS, until what Russ did (he's close to pulling an Chris Benoit) and used to listen to O& A back when they were on 105.3 (both from their pre-XM days and the most recent run after CBS canned David Lee Roth) and after i got high speed internet i listened to them when they aired pre-tape thru the webstream of the local O&A station in Cleveland, OH until that station moved them to morning. if they do come back, i will listen.

Russ was supposed to get married at the end of July. Suddenly, he announces that the wedding is off. He didn't beat Amy. He didn't get arrested. This is all a bit to cover the wedding so the listeners wouldn't show up and ruin the ceremony. The man has connections with all the major radio and TV stations in DFW. Do you really think that he couldn't pull off somthing like this? If you honestly think that Russ is a woman beater, and that this fiasco really happened, as Russ would say, "You're a FOOL!"

This is the process........face responsibility for his accounts with the criminal system and then seek some form of treatment for what, by his own admissions is a problem with alcohol!!!

The only difference between this unfortunate incident and other ones exactly like it that occur 50 times a day in DFW is that he is in the public eye.

Him not being on the air has NOTHING to do with his wishes, or even the stations' wishes. It's called BEING OWNED BY CBS CORPORATION. Every decision comes down from a legal department that has never met Russ, or any other D.J. from all of the 6 CBS stations.

So many people ask what's going on with P&K, as well as Russ, and what some of you don't understand is that these are business descisions that are kept quiet from everyone (including CBS employees) by a bunch of lawyers until they can release an official decision/statement. But rest assured, Russ was out at a station event bowling with his listeners to benefit a police and fire charity (that he created) the night after he was released from jail. He's not right in doing what he did (allegedly), but he isn't hiding. This is just an aweful situation for both of them.

Again... NOT A BIT. I have seen the arrest warrant... and unfortunately for Russ... there is a tape. Not the first instance he has hit her, she knew it was coming this time. She set up a recording and its all on tape. His law enforcement support is evaporating at an astonishing rate. His arrest picture is hanging in every PD in the metroplex...

Russ is a punk. If he can't control his emotions and not put his hands on a woman then he is not a real man. If it were my sister, mother, friend. KLLI & CBS Radio may not have a choice as to whether or not they allow Russ back on the air. He quite likely has a "morality" clause in his contract that says that if he so much as sneezes the wrong way they can and will fire him. These types of clauses are common in contracts with public figures/well-known people, since they constantly represent their employer and employer's image. This type of clause is what cost "Spicoli" his position at 93.3 The Bone a few years ago, following his DWI arrest and subsequent conviction. I am not sure whether or not they can legally fire Russ before he's convicted or pleads guilty. They're probably keeping him off the air now to allow time to do some damage control since they're likely stuck with him till his case is resolved in the courts. I bet they also just want to avoid any type of firestorm that'll undoubtedly happen if/when he's allowed back on the air.

I've listened to Russ for every bit of 20 years or more, and I used to watch him and JD on Hot Tickets back in the day. I've always been a huge fan of his, but this takes the cake. It's certainly not Amy's place to manage his IRS business, especially since they never married, and I doubt that the IRS would even discuss his business with her anyway. Regardless of anything she's ever done to him nothing gives him the right to assault her.

I hope they do eventually fire him, sorry bastard.

I listened to you on the Eagle years ago, and got a kick out of the juvenile behavior and rebellion at management. Since moving to your new gig, it's more of the same, this time however surrounded by more ass kissers (sorry, worshippers on bended knee, most willing to be crapped upon for a paycheck and the notoriety). Come on grow up - uh, while you can regurgitate the same crap for decades, the show's veiled misogyny was silently and publicly celebrated by listeners, you crossed the line, whether as a publicity stunt or as a narcissist in denial. I am writing to express my feelings regarding the Russ Martin Show on your station KLLI in Dallas, Texas.

I am so glad that this clown has not been on the air for the past couple of days and if better judgment prevails, it will continue to be that way.

I am by no means a Russ Martin fan and have not listened to his show in over 10 years. As a female, it SICKENS me to think that CBSradio and KLLI would condone keeping The Russ Martin Show on the air. Is it worth that much money to your company?

The charges that stemmed from his recent acts of violence against his fiance are abominable and I URGE you invoke the morality clause in his contract and show this guy the door! Keeping this cretin on the air would show that KLLI and CBSradio are insensitive and support actions of violence again women.

Russ Martin has not been convicted of a crime as yet, but I'm sure if he can pay his victim enough money and take possession of the "audio evidence", and work a plea with the Tarrant County DA, maybe that will be enough to let him keep his job. Either way, I have obtained a list of advertisers of the Russ Martin Show and will be contacting them and urging them to drop their sponsorship of his show and will let them know that their stores & services will be boycotted as long as they spend advertising dollars on a guy that practices and condones violence against women.

1. The police report said she only left with the company laptop he destroyed, which in my opinion sounded like that was the only thing she was worried about at the time.
2. Why did she give him the "key"? Was she not planning on coming back anyway? or did he tell her not to come back? Kicked her out.
3. Why did she wait till the next day to turn him in? Because her parents pressuring her?
