It's Official: Super Bowl XLV is a Living, Breathing Thing

Mon May 05, 2008 at 03:11:03 PM

We got a logo! Can February 6, 2011, be that far off?

At the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee’s initial press conference today out at the Cowboys new stadium, all sorts of dignitaries -- Troy Aikman, Ross Perot Jr, Tom Leppert, Terdema Ussery -- pledged their support and oohed and aahed at the shiny, Star Trek-y artwork.

North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee Chair Roger Staubach promised, “North Texas will present the most exciting and comprehensive Super Bowl experience in history.”

And who are we to doubt him? Despite the fact that this woman somehow found her way onto the committee. -- Richie Whitt

the graphic design is really cool, but the words are all out of order. if you read it top to bottom, as you normally would, it comes across as "north texas, xlv, host to, super bowl". why did we need the "host to" in the logo, anyway? is that kind of a "duh"? like the colors and design a lot, tho.

Warhol Reject says:

That logo is UGH-LY - sorry, but they could do MUCH better than that...

Travis says:

Ummm...seriously, Clarice Tinsley? I moved to the metroplex about 10 years ago, and I don't know how she is the anchor in a major market (same with Mike Snyder and Jane McGarry...they are just horrible)...does she have photos of her bosses in precarious situations or was she really good back in the day and they are holding onto her as a bit of good ol' day syndrome?

Travis: I'd go with your first guess.
