The Dallas Film Festival is Going to Screen The Sandlot at Klyde Warren Park

Categories: Film and TV

File this under way-too-cute: The Dallas International Film Festival just announced a day-long family event at Klyde Warren Park, anchored by a 20-year-anniversary screening of The Sandlot.

The free event is Saturday, April 6, and will also feature college dudes singing a capella, storytelling and opera. But mostly it will feature a crowd full of dads yelling, in unison, "You play ball like a girl!", followed by a thousand blank stares by a thousand confused sons.

The full schedule of events is below. The Observer, by the way, is a sponsor of the festival.

2:00 p.m. Trevor Haueisen
2:30 p.m. Kitty Carter Dance Factory
3:00 p.m. DMA Resident Storyteller Ann Marie Newman
3:30 p.m. David Chicken
4:00 p.m. Dallas Opera
4:30 p.m. Bowman Ensemble
5:00 p.m. Southern Gentleman from Southern Methodist University
5:30 p.m. Dallas Wind Symphony Tuba Quartet
8:00 p.m. 20th Anniversary Screening of THE SANDLOT
