The Five Best Comedy Shows in Dallas This Weekend, October 18-21
Louis CK at the Majestic Theatre
When you hear "red hair," "pasty gut" and "so funny I almost hyper-ventilated" in the same sentence, there's only one name that comes to mind: Louis mother-fucking CK. In case you've been living on Mars with the Rover or something, CK is the star of the hit series Louie on FX and the biggest thing in comedy right now besides the Presidential debates. As many of you know, his two Saturday night shows in Dallas are sold out. But we hope you find some way to score some tickets.
Ricki Derek's Very Halloweenie Night OH Cabaret at the Texas Theatre
If you like to laugh and have Adult ADHD, then the OH Cabaret is perfect for you. Ricki will be joined by the usual outstanding cast -- Nick Gibbons, Paul the Amazing, Mikey Dino, Tommy Diamond, Dr. Suffolk, Fanny, "Viva Le Hoola" -- plus some fresh blood. Singing, comedy, magic, fire-eating, half-naked chicks -- it'll all be there Saturday night. Tickets are available online for $15-$20. That's like, $2 a boob, guys. See ya there.
Avenue Q at Theatre Three
Extended one more time for you latecomers, Avenue Q will be at Theatre Three through December 9. But don't wait to get tickets -- they go super fast. Avenue Q is where puppets, comedy and music all roll into one orange, fuzzy ball. Follow recent college grad Princeton as he moves into a dilapidated apartment in New York City on Avenue Q and meets every kind of character you could imagine (including a slut!). Tickets are available online. And don't be fooled by the puppets -- this is an adult show.
Donnell Rawlings at the Arlington Improv
He's rich, biiiaaaatch! Okay, not really. But he's here, and that's what matters. On Chappelle's Show, Donnell Rawlings played Ashy Larry and the 70s jheri-curled Beautiful before co-hosting the third season. Playing at the Arlington Improv this Thursday through Sunday, come out and see him yell about things that piss him off. And if you don't like it? Take it in the face!
Jerry Rocha at Hyena's in Fort Worth
Texas comedian Jerry Rocha took the world's worst Greyhound bus trip to California, and he dying to tell you about it. He'll be at Hyena's in Fort Worth on Friday and Saturday, and tickets are only $10 with a two item minimum. Come see him bitch about everything we love to hate about Texas and more. No rednecks, por favor.
