You only have a few days remaining to see Lexus Broadway Series' latest offering at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, War Horse -- although ticket availability might be an issue. It was just announced that the production is a record breaker, holding the title of the top grossing non-musical ever to run in Dallas.

With more than one million bucks collected so far, War Horse has edged out former city favorite, the Pulitzer Prize Winning August: Osage County for the honor. It will be interesting to exactly how much this show pony brings in when it shutters the barn on September 23.

War Horse is based on the 1982 children's book by Michael Morpurgo, and uses life-sized equine puppets as its bait. Set on the French battlefields, it tells the story of World War I from one horse's perspective. You can see this joint project between the National Theatre of London and South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company through Sunday at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora Street. Call 214-880-0202.
