This is Clark Griswold's dream
Every kid and, you know, non-kid, who fussed joyously with the Lite-Brite as a kid: Here's an event you'll appreciate.

Texas Motor Speedway
is showcasing the "region's largest LED animated and glistening light displays" on the nearly two-mile drive through for the event appropriately named "Gift of Lights." It's called Gift of Lights because of the lights, and -- hang on -- the fact that you can bring your nice things to donate to Goodwill. Which you should do because you know you have nice things.

So, now we're just thinking of all the childhood moments where Dad aimlessly drifted through suburbia neighborhoods looking for sparkly Christmas lights. It's all in one place now, Pops! At least it is through January 1 -- check below's release for the hours and admission costs.

Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway: Dazzling Holiday Destination Helping to Bring Goodwill to All

Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway will be ablaze with the region's largest LED light park and seasonal festivities through January 1, and Goodwill of Fort Worth will be a beneficiary of the holiday cheer.

Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway features over 1 million LED animated and glistening light displays on a 1.7-mile drive-through course. More than 25,000 cars with over 140,000 visitors are expected to drive through during the inaugural season.

But Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway is more than just a premier holiday event. It is a prime donation location for Goodwill of Fort Worth. While Speedway Children's Charities is the official charity of Texas Motor Speedway, the Gift of Lights offers a different avenue of giving for the track this holiday season. Visitors may donate gently used items on-site at Gift of Lights or at any Goodwill of Fort Worth donation center.

As a not-for-profit leader, Goodwill offers job training and other services to help people with disabilities and disadvantages achieve their maximum independence. Through Goodwill, job seekers, individuals with special needs, families and other members of the community gain self-esteem and become independent, self-sufficient citizens.

"Goodwill believes in giving people a hand up. We also believe in giving second chances," says Kristen Bostick, Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth's marketing communications coordinator. "It is amazing to see someone go through our training program, get a job, and provide for their family - something they haven't been able to do in a long time. They also get to get up in the morning and go to a place that really needs them."

Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth serves 16 counties, helping people with disabilities or other personal barriers train for employment. Goodwill Industries International, Inc. is the largest employer of people with disabilities in the world.

"Partnering with Gift of Lights is a wonderful opportunity for all of us," Bostick says. "It is a great family event with the spirit of hope, joy, and giving back to the community. We make our mission work through donation opportunities like Gift of Lights."

Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway began Nov. 23 and will be open to visitors every night, including Christmas, through January 1. Hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday, 6 - 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 6-10 p.m. Admission is $15 per vehicle Monday-Thursday and $20 per vehicle Friday-Sunday. The light park is produced by 3Dudes Productions and Winterland, Inc.
