You Know What Art Crawl Needs? More Artists.

Friday marked the Dallas Arts District's second Art Crawl, a recurring event which takes place on the 3rd Friday of each month, correlating with Late Nights at the DMA and the Crow. With seven food trucks, tracks spun by DJ Durty Laundry and a live show by Ishi, Art Crawl had pretty much everything we could ask for -- hell, even the weather was fabulous. And, while the gastrophiles at City of Ate are all over the delectable schmorgesborg, we can't help mentioning the Cup Cakin Machine's Italian Cream; liketa make a fat kid swoon.

If we could get a little greedy and ask for just one thing though, at future Crawls we want to see more artists! Friday's Crawl saw a variety of innovative arts and crafts like Patti Haskin's adorable crocheted critters and jewelry from recycled guitar and bass strings by Eye on the Sparrow Designs. We learned about the inspirational work of 29 Pieces' MasterPeace program that teaches kids nonviolence through art and about the way La Alicia's is turning recycled junk mail into chic accessories. Man, we loved it! But, we need more, and we need you. Got an Etsy account? Make your tortured hipster boyfriend (he secretly loves it) model your awesome handcrafted beanies?
