Rageville Music Festival Raves (or Rages?) through Dallas
Pulsing EDM and rattling hip-hop will officially be wed in trapped-out matrimony this Saturday, April 19, as Dallas welcomes the first ever Rageville Music Festival. The ADHD brainchild of Intelligent Grind Promotions, the one-night hodgepodge packs a broad lineup of masked rappers, live DJs and trill robots. In other words, get ready for sky-high synths and heart-stopping beat drops because they're coming for Deep Ellum with no mercy.
Even with a list of acts that individually blur the lines between the hip-hop and electro-dance cultures, those scheduled are the best of both worlds, locally and nationally. On the home front, expect electrifying performances by new age Lone Star artists including Junk Food, Pass the 40, Colton Carlyle, and Dallas' skilled beat wizard, Blue, The Misfit. You can check out the full lineup here.
Rageville's hip-hop headliner, Travi$ Scott, has a growing buzz with his G.O.O.D Music production credits, 2013 XXL Freshman Class enrollment, tour with Juicy J, and his long-awaited EP, Owl Pharaoh. Fresh off of a SXSW set that premiered material from his first studio album, the Grand Hustle signee is known for the exciting mike dexterity that comes out in full force whenever he hits the stage.
On the flip side, Mad Decent's ETC!ETC! will be headlining the festival's Electro House side with recharged fusion mixes of everything from reggaeton to slowed-down Top 40 and back to whatever else he feels is worthy of his royal trap treatment. Warning to those unfamiliar with these productions: Beware of the bass-heavy build-ups, do the customary full-body pre-rave stretches, and most important, stay hydrated.
With hopes to expand on an annual basis, the Rageville Music Festival makes its way to the Door in Deep Ellum this Saturday, April 19. If you're up for this massive, tripped-out party experience under one roof, general admission and VIP tickets can still be purchased from Rageville's website. Good luck and may the Trap Gods be with you.
