Dam-Funk is Playing a Set at Crown & Harp: Presale Tickets Are Available Now
As trendy food-trucks and high-class chocolate descend on Lowest Greenville, at least one older business can still be seen with a crowded patio on most warm nights. The Crown & Harp isn't much, just a small room and a shotgun bar below it, but the concert calendar just gets more impressive by the day. The most recent in a string of surprisingly high-profile gigs is coming on Saturday, February 1, when LA's Boogie Funk Ambassador and recent Snoop Dogg collaborator Dam-FunK will make an appearance. One day earlier he'll be playing at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the day after at the storied Maison club in New Orleans, if that gives you any sense of scale here.
Part of the poster for the show. You can see the whole thing below.
Locals 5-D, Tony Schwa (who has the same venue at capacity every Monday with his Cool Out night) and JT Donaldson will open. Tickets are $15 at the door, but you can sign up for the Too Fresh Productions e-mail list and get them ahead of time for $10. I'd probably do that if you want to get in: Here's where you can sign up.
You may recognize Too Fresh Productions as the group also responsible for the Thursday night series at C&H that has featured heavy-hitting all-vinyl DJs and hip-hop showcases. They helped bring Peanut Butter Wolf to town back in November, and this Thursday they have NYC 45 night Mobile Monday with featured guest DJ Misbehaviour. In short, this is vital stuff.
