This is not your everyday Billboard chart. Each week, we'll tell you which bands are selling in the fine record shops in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where we consumers of music have impeccable taste.

Tyler, The Creator features several artists on his new album, and according to CD Source owner, Lance Price, his high sales are a direct effect. "Tyler, The Creator's new release was our biggest seller this past week by far when combining sales of the two formats," says Price. "The album features collaborations with Erykah Badu, Hodgy Beats, Frank Ocean, Pharrell, Earl Sweatshirt and many others. He will be performing at the Palladium in May so that may have increased interest in his release. Of course having local favorite Erykah Badu on the release probably helps too."

Another local performance caused Price to grow fond of one of the top sellers last week. "I really like the Black Angels and am glad to see their following grow with each release," says Price. "I saw them back in 2007 when they headlined a benefit for the homeless at the Granada and I was very impressed with them."

Mark Church, sales associate at Good Records, has been anticipating a new release by one of the top selling artists. "My Bloody Valentine hits the top of the sales chart this week with M BV, the long, long, long, long awaited follow up to Loveless from about 100 years ago," says Church. "It is a mix of a continuation of the Loveless sound and some newer elements such as subtle beats on some tracks. Some of the songs on this album had me feeling queasy in a good way because of the production that gives certain songs a disorienting feel."

"Besnard Lakes is a band who have had a strong track record so far,all of their albums have been good," says Church. "If you have not checked them out yet, do yourself a favor and do so NOW."

Bill Wisener, Bill's Records owner, is thrilled to see long time friend, Ben Harper, is still number one in sales at his store. "Ben [Harper] is playing at the White House tonight for Michelle Obama," says Wisener. "I was watching the live stream earlier of him and the First Lady and it was so exciting, I almost started to cry. It may be more thrilling for me because he's my good friend, but it's amazing that a blues album has gotten this high."

Wisener says Ben Harper's performance will air on TBS a week from today, with other performances, such as Justin Timberlake, at the White House.
