Ten Of This Weekend's Best Shows: Lindsey Buckingham, Deep Shade, The Old 97's and More

Lindsey Buckingham

Every Thursday, we bring you the ten best shows to see this weekend. Of course, you can find many more via our handy concert calendar.

Lindsey Buckingham
Friday, August 24, at Cendera Center

The Fleetwood Mac guitarist and singer will be playing at Fort Worth's newly opened Cendera Center. This should be a huge show, and according to Spune Productions' website, there are still tickets available.

Jillian Edwards, Caleb
Thursday, August 23, at Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge

Richardson's Jillian Edwards plays another somewhat high profile show, this time at the newly opened Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge, which just underwent a staff overhaul. Fort Worth concert-goers can expect to see more local shows like this one at what people are calling "The Kessler of the West." You'd be smart to catch the Quaker City Night Hawks on Friday, August 24 as well.

Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit
Friday, August 24, at Hat Tricks

The last time Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit played in town, they lost their van and all of their musical equipment. Let's hope they fare better on this trip.

Dark Side of the Rainbow
Friday, August 24, at Texas Theatre

The original "mash-up." You can't really be sober for this, so plan accordingly.

The Old 97's, Those Darlins, Rhett Miller
Friday, August 24, at House of Blues

This tour marks the 15th anniversary since the release of The Old 97's Too Far To Care. The band will be playing the album in its entirety. Make sure to get there early to catch Those Darlins.

Kirby Brown
Art Conspiracy Presents RZN8
Saturday, August 25, at Life in Deep Ellum

This is the "seed money" event for Art Conspiracy, so locals Kirby Brown, Home By Hovercraft, Datahowler and Spook Easy will provide the tunes, and Black Swan Saloon wil provide the drinks. Mixmaster all about it wrote about it here.

Deep Shade
Saturday, August 25, at Sandaga 813

At Sandaga 813 this Saturday, DJs Gavin G., Gina G., Chris A., Tony Schwa from Cool Out and Rick Simspon of Down Low Music join forces and provide a dance party heavy on house, techno and more. Get there early (7p.m.) for a record sale. No cover.

You forgot about the Ghost of Blind Lemon 5 Year Anniversary show this Friday.  Dead Beat Poetry, hormones, Rahim Quazi, and Taylor Marie at Liquid Lounge.  The Gypsy Hideout, Hawk vs. Dove, Dovetail, Siren Sea, and To Coda at Curtain Club.  Good stuff.  Not that I'm biased.
