12 of This Weekend's Top Shows: Tenacious D, Arkansas Bo and More
| Tenacious D |
Friday, July 20, at Palladium Ballroom
Lots of frat boys expected to turn out for the D tomorrow night. Lots of mind bullets, too.
Denton is Burning
Thursday, July 19, at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios
This weekly event, billed as "Denton's only don't ask just tell dance party," is full of sexual innuendo, or as the 10-year-old version of me would have called it, Sexual Nintendo. Some fantastic Texas DJs are slated to spin. Audra wrote about it here.
Eisley, Merriment
Thursday, July 19, at Rockin' Rodeo
This one kind of snuck up on us, seeing as Rockin' Rodeo is just slightly off the beaten path. Not sure how Eisley got booked here, but hopefully the turnout is good.

Ronnie Fauss
Thursday, July 19, at The Common Table
According to Kelly Dearmore's print piece this week, Ronnie Fauss will put a tear in your (craft) beer at The Common Table on Thursday. Free show.
Fungi Girls
Thursday, July 19, at The Where House
Psych rock trio Fungi Girls perform at The Where House in Fort Worth, which they will soon call home when all of their members move up from Cleburne. Fungi Girls are the coolest band to ever come out of Cleburne, TX. Saturday's Where House show is pretty good too: The Rich Hands, Doom Ghost, War Party and Dead Mellotron.
Arkansas Bo
Friday, July 20, at The Prophet Bar
I was listening to Big K.R.I.T. all morning, and when I read Audra's piece comparing Arkansas Bo to K.R.I.T., it got me stoked about this show.
Ladies Stay Crazy Dance Party
Friday, July 20, at Texas Theatre
Texas Theatre's hitting it out of the park with its DJ nights, and this new monthly jam is directed at the ladies. Who love cocktails. And gussying up. And dancing.
