I was just talking to someone the other day about what a great song "Summertime" is, and then yesterday it was announced that Jessica Jordan, a member of Polyphonic Spree, had covered the song as the first single for her new solo project, My Name Is Moses. What up, serendipity.

The cover is definitely a vivid re-imagining of the song, a little more dreamy than jammy, featuring beats by local producer/musician Datahowler, additional instrumentation from Spree cellist Buffi Jacobs, and some mood lighting via Daniel Huffman, aka New Fumes. Keep an eye out for Good Records Recordings to release the single on vinyl later this year.
