Foster The People
If you're thinking, "If I hear 'Pumped Up Kicks' one more time, I'm gonna pull a gun on someone and make them outrun my bullets," then you should definitely not read on. The band responsible for the song, Foster The People, has strategically planned to start selling tickets to its tour just before "Pumped Up Kicks" backlash reaches full force. Genius.

"Sweet, that 'Pumped Up Kicks' band is coming to Verizon Theatre and tickets only cost about $50!" But, come June 4, the day of the show, you're gonna be like, "Dang, remember that dumb song from last year?"

Tickets for the show will go on sale at AEG's new ticket site, which will serve Verizon Theatre and the Palladium Ballroom, on Friday.

In other show announcements news, Tyler family band Eisley, who've long been considered a Dallas band, will be back at the Granada Theater on Sunday, April 1. The band has just announced a new EP will be released sometime in 2012.

Tickets for the event will be available at the Granada's ticket website. Hit the jump for more show announcements, including Erykah Badu & The Cannabinoids, of Montreal, Boyz II Men, Gomez and more.

I am so excited that Romeo Santos is coming to Dallas! His music is seriously so mesmerizing! Each of his songs puts me in a good mood. If you haven't seen him perform before, you should get your tickets as soon as they go on sale tomorrow!

December 23rd at the Prophet Bar is a Toys For Tots event with I Am Warbird, Daylight Industries, and Sayonara too! Bring a toy for free admission! If you like bands like The Mars Volta, Death From Above 1979, and Brand New, you'll love it!

the way people feel about foster the people is the same way they will feel in a year about grouplove (or whoever has the song in ipod commercial)

December 31show at Lola's is also featuring Salim and the Travoltas and Sealion....amazing bill!

Chopin Bach-oli
Chopin Bach-oli

what i've observed is that, while that is a catchy song, everything else is pretty mediocre. on their album and some live things i've seen online, nothing makes me want to really get into them.

i think we're seeing this indie/pop with a dash of electro-dance thing swelling into and becoming popular music. this is b/c there's bands like this who are one hit wonders and sell $50 tickets on their second go around.

i suppose i can't bash it, b/c it's just how it seems to be.

The backlash against that song was so predictable it was like The Matrix intended for this to happen.

Catch Grouplove on March 23rd with Young the Giant at The Prophet Bar (and that is their song in the Apple commercial)
