Lights All Night Selects Three Finalists to Compete at Artopia for Festival Slot

​Last year's Lights All Night New Year's Eve music festival was a massive hit, thanks to headliners Ghostland Observatory. And, as we mentioned this summer when the festival announced its return, this years is going to be much bigger. Thanks mostly to the bulked up bill -- Ghostland Observatory will be back along with Diplo, Girl Talk and many more -- the festival will now take place at the Dallas Convention Center over the course of two nights: December 30 and 31.

In addition to the huge names on the festival's bill, Lights All Night is throwing a DJ Spin-Off to select an up-and-coming DJ to perform at the festival. The contest, which will feature finalist DJs Skrause, DJ-O, and The Latin House Krew (click their names to see them in action) won't take place at Lights All Night, rather, it'll happen at this weekend on Saturday, December 3, at Artopia, the Dallas Observer Culture Jam at Dallas Contemporary.

Each DJ will spin a 15-minute set at Artopia, followed by a re-cap set at the Artopia afterparty at Zouk, after which a winner will be selected. The judges haven't yet been announced, so stay tuned for an update later this week.

Update: Lights All Night masterminds Hank Keller and Scott Osburn will be joined by Clint Keller and Asim Sheikh to judge the competition.
