Mute Math, Stardeath & White Dwarfs, Youth Lagoon, and This Week's Show Announcements

New Orleans rock act Mute Math, known for their blend of DJ Shadow-esque beats and new wave songs, have a new album out called Odd Soul. They'll be on tour this winter in support of said record, and you can catch them at the House of Blues on Saturday, January 28, for $23. Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. at Live Nation.

In the much nearer future, this weekend marks one of the biggest shows that area blog Subservient Experiment has thrown. They, along with Overtone Booking, are bringing Stardeath & White Dwarfs -- the Oklahoma-based psych rock act (go figure, band leader Dennis Coyne is Wayne Coyne's nephew) -- to Fort Worth's Where House on Friday, October 21. Epic Ruins and Skeleton Coast will open, and tickets will be $15.

Also: Keep on the lookout for lo-fi textured indie act Youth Lagoon, who will be performing at Dan's Silverleaf on Tuesday, November 8, along with Young Magic and Porcelain Raft.
