This Week In Dallas Music History: The Deathray Davies Are Set To Stun
But this week in 2000, aside from Schmidt, these guys were just six unknown, quirky dudes on a small stage making great pop music.
In this edition of This Week In Dallas Music History, former Observer writer Erin Judge caught up with the fun-loving members of The Deathray Davies, who were fresh off the release of their sophomore album The Return of the Drunk Ventriloquist. Judge wrote that, because of how busy The Deathray Davies' members were with other acts, the band's future was uncertain.
They did, however, manage to keep going for several years after the article was written.
Nowadays, they haven't performed in years, thanks to Dufilho's involvement in Apples and his other side project, I Love Math. Rumor has it, though, a new Deathray album is on the way once again.
