The Top 10 Music Video Vixens of All Time
| Jani Lane was 47. |
The news was somewhat puzzling for those who didn't know him. At one time, Lane was on top of the world, with several hits that topped the charts.
But Lane also battled an addiction that, ultimately, he couldn't overcome. As recently as 2008, the rest of the Warrant guys tried to reunite with Lane. Lane only lasted a couple shows during that run; he couldn't get past his ongoing struggles with addiction.
Sad news, indeed.
On a happier note, though, this gives us a chance to talk about a couple of our personal favorite topics -- hair metal and video vixens. Warrant's "Cherry Pie" video, along with being an editing masterpiece that serves as one of the highlights of the band's career, featured Bobbie Brown, one of the '80s most memorable video vixens.
Scantily clad girls are a great way to get people to watch your video; although thousands of videos have used this tactic, a few rise to the top of the heap as the most memorable. So, to that end, we've collected a list of the 10 most memorable video vixens of all time.
Click on the jump for the list.
10. Amber Rose (Ludacris, "What Them Girls Like"). Although she's probably more famous for her love life, Amber stands out in the crowd of girls in this video because of her distinctive buzz cut. Gorgeous bald chicks capture our attention, and Amber, with her perfect body and face, is no exception.
9. Rachel Hunter (Fountains of Wayne, "Stacy's Mom"). Although Hunter became famous in the '80s as the model wife of Rod Stewart, her turn as the cougar-licious mom who gains the unrequited affections of this Fountains of Wayne song's tween narrator made her a video vixen legend. Although Stacy's mom is supposed to be a hot older lady, Hunter was a mere 34 years old when this video was shot, proving that the term "cougar" really is relative.
8. Buffie "The Body" Carruth (Tony Yayo/50 Cent, "So Seductive"). Buffie is the rare hip-hop vixen who got featured as the main muse in this video. There's no real way to say this delicately, so we'll just go ahead and state for the record that Buffie has a gigantic behind (prominently tattooed with the word "tasty"). Her, umm, assets have garnered her an appropriately sizable following.
7. Karrine Steffans (Jay-Z, "Big Pimpin'"). Steffans has also appeared in videos by LL Cool J and R Kelly, but what makes her most memorable is that she wrote several best-selling books about being a hip-hop video chick, including Confessions of a Video Vixen. Karrine spoke out against sexism in hip-hop after her video career ended, appearing on Oprah to talk about her experience.
