Picture Show: True Widow and Dunes Play an Early Evening Garage Show in Lakewood

Actually, the house show -- a re-do of sorts for a similar bill that took place in August 2010 -- kind of served as a double-homecoming: Stephanie Chan of the Los Angeles-based Dunes is actually a Dallas native, turns out.
As such, she and her bandmates were capably prepared for the Texas heat, although it'd be tough to say that anyone is ever really prepared to play a sweaty set inside of an unfinished garage filled with people as the sun set to close out another day filled with typical high temperatures. Still, both Widow's "stonegaze" and Dunes' lo-fi ambient punk satisfied, both hazy enough to fit the setting -- and even in the face of injury, no less. Earlier in the day, Dunes' guitar player injured his pinky finger after it was caught in his band's van door while they were setting to depart from their previous night's stop in New Orleans.
After the jump, check out some photos from the scene.

| Over the weekend, this same yard was used as the set for Leg Sweeper's "Sexy Weekend" video shoot. Of course. |
