He likes it! Hey, Darroh!
If you sat around yesterday waiting for Arrows and Anchors, the new Fair to Midland album, to go on sale, you no doubt ended up disappointed. The three-years-in-the-making album from the area progressive metal act has seen release was pushed back once more, this time to July 12.

No worries, though -- or so bassist Jon Dicken told us when we chatted with him last week. All the better, he said, if it means the band's new label properly gets behind it. And, in defense of the folks at eOne Music, they sure seem to be, with a whole slew of promotional props popping up this week. There's the music video for the album's lead single, "Musical Chairs," which we first heard back in April and which you can watch after the jump.

And then there's another nice perk -- a free download for a song from the album called "Amarillo Sleeps on My Pillow," which you can snag after the jump in exchange for your email address. Dicken told us it's the song he's most pleased with on the 15-track disc guided along by Queens of the Stone Age and Tool producer Joe Barresi.

"It'll never be released as a single," he admitted, "but I just think it came out way better than any of us expected."

We wholeheartedly agree. It's kind of a new direction for the band, too, just as frontman Darroh Sudderth had promised way back when. Yes, that's right: Fair to Midland uses a banjo on this song. Trust us, you'll want to hear what that's like.
