Ready For The Voice's Season Finale? Well, How About Some Local Connections To The Show?

​Confession time, y'all: I've been watching The Voice on NBC all season long. Kind of loving it, too. And why not? It's like the perfect blend of American Idol and Made.

(Speaking of Made: I highly recommend trying to catch a re-run of Play-N-Skillz's recently aired episode of that show, especially if you enjoy watching grown men break the spirits of teenage girls and getting them to cry in the process.)

Anyway, tonight marks the first night of The Voice's two-night first season finale. And, as luck would have it, we've got a couple local music-related connections to the show this week that are worth passing along, we think.

For starters, in addition to the four finalists -- Team Blake Shelton's Dia Frampton, Team Cee-Lo Green's Vicci Martinez, Team Adam Levine's Javier Colon and Team Christina Aguilera's Beverly McClellan -- performing solo tonight, they'll also be performing other songs, as has been the case all season long.

And, in the case of Team Blake's Dia Frampton (DC9's official pick to win the first season), tonight's extra song should be extra special. She'll be performing a duet with Shelton's wife, country star Miranda Lambert. Lambert, of course, is a native of the not-too-far-away-from-here Lindale -- something you'd definitely notice if you ever drove past that town on I-20 and saw thew gargantuan billboard announcing as much. So here's looking forward to that.

Meanwhile, in local event news, an already-ousted contestant from this season's competition will be performing in Arlington on Friday night.

Colleyville's Own country-crooning Patrick Thomas, also formerly of Team Blake, will perform on campus at Texas Hall at the University of Texas at Arlington on Friday at 7 p.m., as part of the pre-show for this year's Miss Texas Pageant.

It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll, y'all.
