Thirteen Videos To Scare Your Friday The 13th Pants Off

friday-the-13th-poster.jpg
So. This month, the thirteenth day of the month has fallen on a Friday. Dun, dun, dun!

Here in Dallas, that's not necessarily a bad thing: Since midnight last night, folks have been flocking to Elm Street Tattoo for their $13 Friday the 13th tattoo as part of Oliver Peck's annual marathon.

But those poor souls who suffer from friggatriskaidekaphobia are another case entirely. They're no doubt locking their doors and hiding under their covers at this very moment as everybody else goes about their normal daily routines.

We here at DC9 aren't a particularly superstitious lot. But we do get a kick out of themed holidays. So, on that note, we thought we'd celebrate today's grim aspects by putting together a list of music videos that we find gruesome, spooky and downright terrifying -- scarier, even, than grunge's one-two punch of Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" and Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun." And, of course, there are 13 of them for you to watch.

We've posted them for your viewing pleasure after the jump. Be warned, though: They're not all fun to watch.

Health -- "We Are Water"
This video is incredibly creepy. And the last minute is a total gore-fest.

Robbie Williams -- "Rock DJ"
Robbie Williams gets naked, takes off his skin and tears pieces of his flesh around a roller disco rink. Ick!

Aphex Twin -- "Come to Daddy"
Creepy children running around with Richard David James' face in place of theirs, and a sinister TV screen that "wants your soul." Enough said.

CSS -- "Alala"
A party gone wrong ends in blood sweat and tears. Poor CSS.

Golden Earring -- "Twilight Zone"
Twilight zone, indeed.

Esben and the Witch -- "Marching Song"
The slowly decaying faces of the members of Esben and the Witch is enough to send chills down anyone's spine.

Simian Mobile Disco -- "Hustler"
This video is straight-up nauseating, from the gorging and purging to morphed faces and fluorescent spew.

Herbie Hancock -- "Rockit"
This video is not entirely unlike a feverish dream.

Genesis -- "Land of Confusion"
Creepy puppets. Need we say more?

Tyler, The Creator -- "Yonkers"
Tyler, the Creator is all kinds of bad mojo, and this video is no exception.

Rebecca Black -- "Friday"
No caption necessary.

The Beloved -- "Sweet Harmony"
We're pretty sure this video is supposed to euphoric, but it just gives us the creeps. It's too cult-like for comfort.

Thieves Like Us -- "Lover Lover"
Crazy stalker chick tracks down and kills her obsession. Creepy.
