Giveaway: A Pair of Tickets to See Lucero at Club Dada Tonight

Categories: Giveaway!

Punk-infused Southern rock band Lucero released 1372 Overton Park in October of 2009, marking the band's sixth studio album as well as their debut with a major label. But, while some might be alarmed that Lucero has lost their rough-around-the-edges appeal with the new resources they've racked up, the band assures us in this week's paper that any maturity that they have acquired won't slow down their pace, and will be beneficial in the long run.

Says frontman Ben Nichols:
"Yeah, I think it is a more mature Lucero. But, really, we're still touring about as much as we always have. We're still doing over 150 shows a year; we're not slowing down by any means. We're lucky to be doing what we do. Everyone's still willing to make the sacrifices that it takes to go on the road and keep the band fully operational. And I don't see us slowing down anytime soon, to tell you the truth. And, hopefully, we'll continue to play more mature shows. Which, I think, means better-sounding shows and actually playing the songs as they were intended to be played. And not fucking everything up all the time." Continue reading...
Lucky for us, then, that Lucero will be playing tonight at Club Dada, so we can see this new maturity for ourselves. And thanks to the fine folks at Club Dada, we have one pair of tickets to give to one lucky DC9 reader.
