SXSW's Most Recent Performer Announcement Includes At Least 37 Bands With Area Ties

After a handful of early teases, the folks down at Austins' South by Southwest Music and Media Conference went ahead and released the whole big batch of names -- although, let's be honest, there will probably still be some changes (not to mention names we just missed) -- of performers slated to hit Austin come the Ides of March.

Between scanning the newly announced list and balancing that with some emails we've exchanged with SXSW organizers, we've counted some 37 bands with regional ties on the bill, putting this year's count pretty much right on spot with the previous three or so years.

After the jump, give that list of confirmed performers a once-over yourself.

Pete, I heard on good sources that The O's are playing SXSW also, but did not see them in your list. Have you heard differently?

Would it be strange that our name would be on this list yet we haven't heard anything from SxSW?
