Bonus MP3: Eisley's Sherri DuPree-Bemis and Say Anything's Max Bemis Offer Up Two Takes on "White Christmas"
It isn't exactly Bing Crosby, but the Bemis' version stays true to the original, keeping it at a mellow meter and at a lullaby volume. The only accompaniment is a plucked acoustic guitar, which plays quietly under DuPree-Bemis soothing vocal. More interesting, though, might be the other version they also uploaded, a DuPree-Bemis penned take called "White Christmas Nightmare." Writes the Eisley guitarist:
While I was recording ["White Christmas"], I became inspired to write a spooky version that lyrically, is a nod to my love of The Brothers Grimm and Tim Burton (Nightmare Before Christmas = best freaking film ever)! So I recorded this version which is basically about the witch from Hansel and Gretel who eats children...so, er...Merry Christmas!!"Give both songs a listen -- and download -- after the jump.
