Giveaway: Five Pairs of Tickets to See We Are Scientists Tonight at The Loft
The New York-based, Berkeley-formed We Are Scientists have been around for a decade at this point, although, really, their big break didn't come until 2005 when the band released With Love and Squalor, which included its biggest hit to date in "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt." The consummate "big in Europe" band, We Are Scientists has enjoyed great commercial and critical acclaim in England specifically, where the band enjoys fairly consistent praise from the likes of NME and where the band's 2008 album, Brain Thrust Mastery, reached as high as No. 11 on the album sales charts.
The band's success has waned somewhat since "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" became a moderate U.S. hit in 2006 and its song "After Hours" earned the band its highest singles chart placement in Europe in 2008. But with a new disc called Barbara, the band's fourth, released earlier this year, the band's back on the road now, bringing its energetic sounds and live show to the masses once more.
