Watch: Midlake -- "Rulers, Ruling All Things"

It's only taken seven months, but Midlake finally went ahead and released a music video for a song off of its The Courage of Others LP. Over on Stereogum this afternoon, the band premiered the above video for "Ruler, Ruling All Things," a clip directed and shot by frontman Tim Smith on an 8 mm camera in Holland. It's a gorgeous clip that pairs well with the meticulously arranged song.

But, perhaps more important, the Stereogum item also makes mention of a new Midlake release set to come out later this month on Tuesday, September 21, via Bella Union. Called the Fortune EP, the release features an alternate take of The Courage of Others' "Fortune," four live cuts of Courage songs and even a live recording of "Van Occupanther" from 2006's opus, The Trials of Van Occupanther.
