Newly Created Ace McNeely Foundation To Hold Eight-Hour Benefit Concert On October 10
| Ace McNeely was 30 years old. |
Featuring performances from the Boys Named Sue, The Doubledowns (featuring Ace's father, Russ McNeely, on guitar), Grant Jones and the Pistol Grip Lassos, Here in Arms, Abby Normal, Here Holy Spain, The Von Ehrics, The Shredders, Ryan Thomas Becker, Madison King, and Ace's father's own Russ McNeely Band, all proceeds from the event will benefit the newly created Ace McNeely Foundation, which will aim to help provide music lessons and instruments for children who cannot afford them.
The charity's aim is a fitting one: In addition to his work at City Tavern and as the bassist in Grant Jones & The Pistol Grip Lassos (among other acts), McNeely worked as a teacher at area music school Zounds Sounds. The band The Shredders, which is performing at this show, will be made up entirely of his former students.
Cover charge for the eight-hour affair, which will start at 4 p.m., is $10.
Update: As noted in the comments below, advance tickets are currently available through Prekindle right here.
