We've known for some time now that the new disc from the Old 97's, The Grand Theatre, Volume One, was being prepared for a Tuesday, October 12, release. But as for any coinciding performances with that release? Well, on that front, the band's calendar's been rather dark.

Until now.

Yesterday, we reached out to frontman Rhett Miller to see if there was any word to be shared on any Dallas shows coinciding with the album release.

Turns out, there is one. Shares Miller: The band will be hosting an in-store performance and signing session on the day of the release at the Greenville Avenue location of national book store chain Borders. And, sure enough, that event is already listed on that store location's event calendar.

But as for a formal show?

Well, aside from the band's festival performance at the inaugural, two-day Festival at the Switchyard in Carrollton, where the band will share opening, Friday night headlining duties will fellow local heroes The Polyphonic Spree, the band is also planning what Miller's calling a "proper show" for the new record. Expect that, Miller shares, to take place in town sometime around New Year's Eve.

Dudes just really like being in Texas in late December, I guess.
