Should be a good time--and one made all the more enjoyable thanks to the fact that, while on the road, Built to Spill will also be selling a seven-song EP called The Electric Anthology Project. It's a pretty interesting concept: Built to Spill's Doug Martsch and Brett Nelson have re-imagined seven songs from their band's usually guitar-heavy catalog as synth-based takes. And, actually, the results are better than one would expect, if the three songs posted to the album's MySpace site are any indication (you can also buy the full EP at CD Baby)
I dunno if I'd necessarily expect to hear any of those re-worked songs in the band's set tomorrow night, though; as Martsch told us in this week's paper, he's just now coming to grips with Built to Spill's direction. Still, that's a plenty good direction, as fans--and those who attended the band's performance at the Granada back in October--can attest.
Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winner!
