Pleasant Grove will be at
The Kessler in Oak Cliff Saturday for a very special performance. Not only is it a rare (reunion?) show for the band that for years has been either broken up or on the verge of breakup, depending on who you ask, but they'll be performing their album
Auscultation of the Heart in its entirety, with the original lineup of Joe Butcher, Tony Hormillosa, Jeff Ryan, Bret Egner and Marcus Striplin.
Also on the bill is
Mike Graff, former guitarist of
Course of Empire, and Austin ambient-acoustic musician
Derek Rogers.
We've been excited about this since it was announced in May. Tickets are $10 and available at the venue or the adjacent Cliff Notes bookstore.
However, thanks to the kind folks at The Kessler, two DC9 readers can experience it for free--and bring along a friend. All you've got to do is be one of the first two to e-mail me with the subject "I Couldn't Withstand The Damage Of Missing This Show" and you'll be on the guest list, plus one. Don't forget to include your full name. Update: Contest is over. Congrats to the winners.
