Giveaway: Five Pairs Of Tickets to See A.A. Bondy at The Loft Tomorrow Night
A growing trend among indie-folk musicians these days is going out to the woods by themselves, living off of the land for an extended time, and writing a weirdly brilliant album. Bon Iver frontman Jason Vernon is probably the most notable, but years before he got the notion, A.A. Bondy spent some time in a cabin in the Catskill mountains in New York, during which time he recorded and released his beautifully minimal solo debut, American Hearts.
Since then, he released his 2009 album, When The Devil's Loose, and has started to gain recognition as one America's top folk artists. In this week's paper, Kelly Dearmore and Bondy discuss that ascent.
Bondy's tour is passing through town tomorrow night with a show at The Loft. DFW's own Doug Burr will open.
Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winners!
