Three Videos: Air Review, Seryn and Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights

• Great bloggers love criticism because they know that their content is causing a reaction.

• Just wondering why every Dallas band, EVEN the so called popular ones, sound exactly like some bigger band that was popular. Muse, Coldplay, Kid Rock, Stevie Ray, The Killers and on and on, the thing is STOP copying every trend. You can go down the list and name the bands that they are directly ripping off style/sound/persona. Even if your a good band, which some of you are, why can't Dallas build up things that are original and start with a great song. There are plenty out there. Let's make the bands that we send to the top and eventually out of Dallas be the ones that make an original statement and don't sound like a cover band with different lyrics. If you need examples Sarah Jaffe, Fair to Midland, Menkenna, Little Black Dress, The O's, and more that are original and great songwriter's. This music is timeless. It makes me want to puke when certain bands are billed as Hometown Hero's etc by this magazine. Just because 100 people show up to a show, doesn't mean we embrace them as representing our music scene. Dallas is diverse and the Dallas sound is so hard to pinpoint because typically it is all over the place original. Just had to vent, i love our music scene and I think we have so much great talent, but if we ever want Dallas to be known for it then we need to learn how to "build a scene" and that includes all you writers, critics, bands, club owners, promoters, and us FANS. Support good songwriting, support originality, support original identity not stolen.

• Air Review rocked the house (Sorry, Observer, but the video doesn't quite do them justice). Can't wait to see them play with Ishi on the 7th. It's gonna be a pa-a-a-a-arty.

• The biggest problem with this event was that I couldn't be in 2 or 3 places at once. Had a great time in spite of my inability to violate the laws of physics...

• yay! jonathan tyler and the you've ruined dallas music! how do you people listen to this crap?
