Watch: Neon Indian Claims Denton During An Interview at the Pitchfork Music Festival

Categories: DFW Music News

In the "Wikipedia Files" video series, the above episode of which was shot at this weekend's Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, various bands are questioned about information found on their Wikipedia pages. It's a pretty interesting project from the Chicago radio station, WBEW-89.5 FM Vocalo, and this most recent take features Denton's own Neon Indian.

And, actually, that's what makes it interesting: Seems like there's still a bit of a fight over who gets to claim Neon Indian, which has lived in Denton, Austin, and now resides in Brooklyn. Well, frontman Alan Palomo puts the great Neon Indian debate to rest in this interview. When asked about Wikipedia's claim that Neon Indian is from Denton, the band's frontman confirms as much. Denton, Texas, for the win!

In related news, stay tuned for a slideshow coming your way from this past weekend's Pitchfork Music Festival happenings. Two acts with local ties played the Chicago fest--Neon Indian and St. Vincent--and we've got the pictures coming your way either today or tomorrow to prove it.
