Giveaway: Five Pairs of Tickets to See Nathaniel Rateliff and The Beaten Sea at The Loft Tomorrow Night
Denver's soulful singer/songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff just dropped his first release with Rounder Records, In Memory of Loss, in May and is embarking on his first international tour to celebrate. His very first stop? Dallas, Texas.
Rateliff, who has previously performed under the epithet The Wheel and also in the rock band Born In The Flood, will be kicking off his first headlining tour with a performance at The Loft tomorrow night. His new album has met widely with positive feedback, even eliciting comparisons to Bon Iver's acclaimed release For Emma, Forever Ago. It's a fair parallel; Rateliff's hauntingly beautiful voice and simple, yet effective, song structures makes for some epic tracks that can't help but play your heartstrings. Watch the above clip for proof.
What's even cooler, though? Going on tour with Rateliff as his opening act is Dallas's own The Beaten Sea. The local folk group really couldn't have landed a better deal--their back-to-basics folk will surely compliment the headliner's honest and humble sound quite nicely.
